PRO CAR Police Seize Over P5.3M Worth of Illegal Drugs and Arrest One Drug Personality in

The anti-illegal drug operatives of the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) seized illegal drugs with a total value of PhP5,323,060.00 and arrested a drug personality following a series of operations conducted in the provinces of Kalinga, Benguet, and Apayao on April 13, 2025.
In Kalinga, 19,000 fully grown marijuana plants (FGMJP) with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PhP3,800,000.00 were discovered during the marijuana eradication operations launched by the joint operatives of Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO), Regional Intelligence Division (RID) of PRO CAR, Regional Intelligence Unit-14 (RIU-14), and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Kalinga in Brgy. Butbut Proper, Tinglayan.
Further, in Benguet, the same nature of operation led to the discovery of 1,000 FGMJP and 11.00 kilograms of dried marijuana stalks with an overall SDP of PhP1,520,000.00 by the joint forces of Benguet PPO, RID PRO CAR, RIU-14, and PDEA-CAR in Brgy. Tacadang, Kibungan, Brgy. Sagubo, Kapangan, and Brgy. Kayapa, Bakun.
All discovered marijuana plants were uprooted and incinerated on-site, with sufficient samples collected for submission to the Regional Forensic Unit CAR.
Meanwhile, in Apayao, a male aged 37, listed as a Street Level Individual, was arrested during the implementation of a search warrant by the joint operatives of Apayao PPO, RID PRO CAR, RIU-14, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15, and PDEA-CAR in Brgy. Buluan, Conner.
During the operation, one sachet of suspected shabu weighing approximately 0.45 grams with an SDP of PhP3,060.00, one opened sachet with traces of suspected shabu, one homemade long barrel caliber .22, assorted magazines and ammunition, and other drug paraphernalia were confiscated from the suspect’s residence.
The arrested suspect and seized pieces of evidence were brought to the custody of Conner Municipal Police Station for documentation and proper disposition. The suspect will face charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
ONE DAY DRUG OPS YIELD OVER P1.8M WORTH OF ILLEGAL DRUGS; TWO DRUG PERSONALITIES ARRESTED
As part of their ongoing efforts to ensure a drug-free community, the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) launched simultaneous anti-illegal drug operations, resulting in the seizure of a total of PhP1,878,300.00 worth of illegal drugs and the arrest of two drug personalities in Kalinga, Benguet, and Baguio City on April 14, 2025.
Separate marijuana eradication operations led to the discovery of a total of 9,315 fully grown marijuana plants with a combined Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PhP1,863,000.00 in Tinglayan, Kalinga, and in Bakun and Kibungan, Benguet.
The successful operations were carried out by joint operatives from the Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO), Benguet PPO, Regional Intelligence Division (RID) of PRO-CAR, Regional Intelligence Unit 14 (RIU14), Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency–Cordillera Administrative Region (PDEA-CAR).
All discovered marijuana plants were documented and incinerated on-site, with representative samples taken for submission to the Regional Forensic Unit-CAR for qualitative testing.
Meanwhile, separate buy-bust operations led to the arrest of two drug personalities and the seizure of three sachets containing a total of 2.25 grams of suspected shabu, with a combined SDP of PhP15,300.00, in Benguet and Baguio City.
In Benguet, a Street Level Individual was arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by personnel from the Benguet PPO, Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit–CAR, and PDEA-CAR after he sold one plastic sachet containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 0.25 grams, with an SDP of PhP1,700.00, in Pico, La Trinidad.
Additionally, in Baguio City, another drug personality listed as a High Value Individual was arrested after he sold two sachets containing two grams of suspected shabu with an SDP of PhP13,600.00 in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Lower Magsaysay.
The operation was carried out by joint operatives from the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit, Regional Intelligence Division of PRO-CAR, Baguio City Police Office, and PDEA-CAR.
The inventory and documentation of the confiscated evidence were conducted on-site, while the arrested suspects were brought to the concerned units. Charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are currently being prepared against them. **
