PRO CAR’s weeklong drug ops net over P5.9M worth of illegal drugs; 5 suspects arrested
The Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) has delivered another significant blow to the regional drug trade, seizing over P5.9 million worth of illegal drugs and arresting five drug personalities during an intensified, weeklong campaign conducted from June 15 to 21, 2026.
According to reports from the Regional Operations Division, PRO CAR executed a total of 14 anti-illegal drug operations, which included 10 marijuana eradication operations, and four buy-bust operations.
The relentless operations resulted in the seizure of 23,642 fully grown marijuana plants, 2,800 marijuana seedlings, 8,134 grams of dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops, and 18.43 grams of shabu, with an overall Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PhP5,941,804.00.
In addition, five drug personalities were arrested, four of whom are listed as Street Level Individuals (SLIs), while one is listed as High Value Individual (HVI). All suspects will be facing charges for violations of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The most significant accomplishments were recorded in Benguet, where the Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) seized illegal drugs worth PhP4,624,440.00 and arrested one SLI. Meanwhile, the Kalinga PPO successfully dismantled plantation sites containing marijuana plants valued at PhP1,200,000.00. In Baguio City, the Baguio City Police Office seized PhP117,360.00 worth of illegal drugs and successfully apprehended four drug personalities, including three SLI’s and one HVI.
These accomplishments highlight the effectiveness of PRO CAR’s intensified anti-illegal drug campaign and its strong collaboration with local government units, partner agencies, and community stakeholders. As PRO CAR continues to strengthen its operational efforts, the active participation, vigilance, and support of the public remain essential in sustaining these achievements and advancing the collective goal of a safer, more secure, and drug-free Cordillera region.
Search warrant nets 8 drug personalities, 97K worth of illegal drugs seized
Eight drug personalities were arrested and over PhP97,000.00 worth of illegal drugs were confiscated following a search warrant operation conducted by anti-illegal drug operatives of the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) in Brgy. Kias, Baguio City, on June 23, 2026.
According to reports, joint operatives from Police Station (PS) 4, the City Intelligence Unit, the City Drug Enforcement Unit, and the City Mobile Force Company of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), together with the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit and the Regional Intelligence Unit 14, implemented the search warrant.
The operation resulted in the arrest of eight individuals who are all residents of Baguio City, including five males aged 42, 39, 21, 37, and 34, and three females aged 26, 32, and 34, all of whom are listed as Street Level Individuals.
Seized during the operation were one sachet containing approximately five grams of suspected marijuana leaves and seeds with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PhP600.00, and 17 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing approximately 14.2 grams of suspected shabu with an SDP of PhP89,760.00, bringing the combined total SDP to PhP97,160.00.
The confiscated pieces of evidence were inventoried onsite in the presence of the suspects, a representative from the Department of Justice, and a barangay official.
The arrested individuals and the seized evidence were brought to PS4 for documentation. All suspects will face charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.**
