ProCAR cops torch over P1.5M MJ, nab high value drug personality
The Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) successfully destroyed fully grown marijuana plants (FGMJP) with a total worth of PhP1,550,000.00 across the provinces of Kalinga and Benguet and arrested a high value drug personality in Baguio City on April 4, 2025.
In Brgy. Loccong, Tinglayan, Kalinga, joint operatives from the different units of the Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO), Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Kalinga discovered 6,500 FGMJP with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PhP1,300,000.00.
Meanwhile, in Brgy. Tacadang, Kibungan, Benguet, joint operatives from the Benguet PPO, Regional Intelligence Division of PRO CAR, and PDEA-CAR discovered two marijuana plantation sites containing 1,250 FGMJP with an SDP of PhP250,000.00.
The operatives uprooted and burned all the discovered marijuana plants on-site, ensuring samples were secured for forensic analysis. Investigations are actively underway to identify those responsible for cultivation.
Additionally, a male aged 31, identified as a High Value Individual and a priority regional top-ten drug personality, was apprehended in Brgy. Upper San Vicente, Baguio City, by joint operatives from the Baguio City Police Office (CPO) and the Regional Intelligence Unit-14 through a warrant for his arrest for violations of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The arrested suspect was taken into the custody of Police Station 2 of the Baguio CPO for documentation and proper disposition before being turned over to the issuing court.

He also expressed deep appreciation for the continued support and cooperation of local communities, recognizing their crucial role in the ongoing anti-drug campaign.
Benguet Police Seize Over P200K Worth of Illegal Drugs and Apprehend Drug Personality

As part of the continuous anti-illegal drugs campaign of the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR), a total of PhP209,920.00 worth of illegal drugs were seized and a drug personality was apprehended during separate operations conducted in the province of Benguet on April 7, 2025.
In the marijuana eradication operations launched, 985 fully grown marijuana plants with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PhP197,000.00 were discovered by the joint forces of Bakun Municipal Police Station (MPS), Kibungan MPS, 2nd Benguet Provincial Mobile Force Company, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) and Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) of Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO), Regional Intelligence Division (RID) of PRO CAR, Regional Intelligence Unit 14 (RIU-14), and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-CAR in Brgy. Kayapa, Bakun and Brgy. Tacadang, Kibungan.
All discovered marijuana plants were uprooted and burned on-site with sufficient samples collected for submission to the Regional Forensic Unit–CAR. Further, follow-up investigations are being conducted to identify other marijuana plantation sites in nearby areas and apprehend the cultivators.
Meanwhile, a buy-bust operation conducted by the joint operatives of La Trinidad MPS, PDEU and PIU of Benguet PPO, RID PRO CAR, and PDEA-CAR in Brgy. Pico, La Trinidad, resulted in the apprehension of a male minor after he sold one sachet of suspected shabu weighing approximately 0.90 gram with an SDP of PhP6,120.00 to an operative who acted as a poseur buyer.
During his apprehension, four more sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 1.00 gram with an SDP of PhP6,800.00 were recovered from his possession.
The marking and inventory of the confiscated pieces of evidence were conducted on-site and witnessed by Prosecutor Jonjon Amcay, DOJ representative, and Barangay Kagawad Harry William of Brgy. Pico.
The minor and the seized pieces of evidence were brought to the custody of La Trinidad MPS for documentation. The minor will then be turned over to the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office for appropriate disposition.**
