Baguio City Police office welcomes new city durector
The Baguio City Police Office (CPO) welcomes its newly appointed City Director, PCOL RUEL DANGOS TAGEL, in a formal Turnover of Command Ceremony held at the RNJ Hotel in Brgy. Quezon Hill, Baguio City on October 8, 2024.
The ceremony was presided over by PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR, the Regional Director of Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region, and was attended by Hon. Benjamin B. Magalong, the Mayor of Baguio City, and the Napino cops of Baguio CPO.
As a highlight of the event, PCOL FRANCISCO B BULWAYAN, JR, the outgoing City Director, turned over the command symbol, property book, and equipment inventory and portfolio of Baguio CPO to PCOL TAGEL, signifying the official transfer of leadership.
As PCOL BULWAYAN, JR stepped down from his post, he expressed his gratitude to the personnel of Baguio CPO for their unwavering support during his tenure. He will now be serving as the new Chief of the Regional Learning and Doctrine Development Division of PRO-CAR.
Meanwhile, PCOL TAGEL acknowledged the challenges ahead and graciously accepted the duties and responsibilities bestowed upon him as the new leader of Baguio CPO. Further, he also emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation among the Napino Cops, as well as with the Local Government Unit, in maintaining the peace and security in the city of Baguio.
In his message, the Regional Director expressed his gratitude to both officers and offered words of encouragement to inspire them to persist in fulfilling their solemn responsibilities.

Over 46M worth of illegal drugs seized and three HVI arrested in PRO-CAR’s weeklong drug ops
The Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO-CAR) conducted a series of successful anti-illegal drug operations from September 30 to October 6, 2024, resulting in the seizure of PhP46,168,000.00 worth of marijuana plants and the arrest of three individuals involved in the drug trade.
During the weeklong campaign, PRO-CAR conducted 12 operations across the Provinces of Apayao, Benguet, Kalinga, Mountain Province, and the City of Baguio. These operations led to the confiscation of 153,080 pieces of Fully Grown Marijuana Plants, 1,800 marijuana seedlings, and 129,000 grams of dried marijuana leaves.
The most significant operations took place in Mountain Province, where the Inayan Cops of the Mountain Province Police Provincial Office (PPO) eradicated marijuana plants valued at PhP27,000,000.00. Moreover, the Lumin-awa Cops of Kalinga PPO seized a total of PhP18,180,000.00 worth of marijuana plants and apprehended a High Value Individual (HVI).
Additionally, the Cabalyero Cops of the Benguet PPO successfully seized marijuana plants valued at PhP988,000.00. Meanwhile, the Pasindayaw Cops of the Apayao PPO and the Napino Cops of the Baguio City Police Office both achieved significant success by arresting two suspects identified as HVI during the conduct of separate anti-illegal drug operations.
