P13.2-M MJ burned in Kibungan
The continuous anti-illegal drugs operations of Police Regional Office Cordillera resulted to the discovery of a total of 13.2 million worth of marijuana plants in a 2-day operation from April 3-4, 2021.
Benguet operatives discovered marijuana plantation sites in a communal forest at Sitio Tableo, Brgy Badeo as they trekked the mountains of Kibungan, Benguet.
On April 3, operatives uprooted a total of 2,100 fully grown marijuana plants in an estimated land area of 300 square meters with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 420,000.00. Found also within the site is a 10 kg bundle of abandoned dried marijuana stalks amounting to SDP of Php 1, 200,000.00.
On the following day, in an estimated land area of 4,000 square meters, 28,000 fully grown marijuana plants with an SDP of Php 5,600,000.00 were uprooted by the operatives. In addition, a total of 50 kg abandoned dried marijuana stalks valued at Php 6,000,000.00 were found.
To sum-up, a total of Php 13,220,000.00 worth of fully grown marijuana plants and dried marijuana stalks were destroyed and burned onsite by the operatives.
3 drug personalities collared
Baguio operatives in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) busted three drug personalities in Baguio City in separate operations on April 3, 2021.
The one-day anti-illegal drugs operation of Baguio cops and other support units yielded two Street Level Individuals (SLI) identified as Jestonie Lamsie Packoy aka Tonio, 28 and Nicole Foronda Salango aka Nikki, 33 and a newly identified drug personality, May Ann Sereso De Guzman, 37.
In Loakan Police Station (PS4), operatives arrested suspect “Tonio” along Access Road, Loakan, Baguio City in the early morning of April 3 after he sold 0.2 grams of suspected shabu worth Php 2,000.00 to a police operative who acted as poseur-buyer. The buy-bust resulted in the confiscation of another sachet of suspected shabu weighing 0.2 grams worth PHP 2,000.00; boodle money; Non-Professional Driver’s license; one F11 Oppo Cellphone, and a motorcycle used in the suspect’s transaction with operatives.
In a separate operation of City Drug Enforcement Unit, another SLI known as “Nikki”, call center agent, was arrested at Km 4 Marcos Highway Bakakeng Central, Baguio City, after she was caught selling a sachet of suspected shabu weighing about one gram worth Php 6,000 pesos to a poseur buyer. The buy-bust money and her Samsung cellphone used in the transaction were seized from the suspect.
Meanwhile, in Barangay Zamora, Baguio City, operatives nabbed suspect De Guzman, a newly identified drug personality, after she sold two small sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 0.3 gram worth Php 1,500.00 to an undercover operative. Reports from the Camdas Police Station (PS2) revealed that a concerned citizen tip-off has led to the operation, and further validations discovered that the suspect has been dealing illegal drugs to some night workers (hospitality girls) along her route in Magsaysay Ave., Harrizon Road, and Lakandula St. area.
Cases for violation of RA 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were filed against the three.**
