PROCOR COPS NET OVER 57M ILLEGAL DRUGS IN A WEEKLONG DRUGS OPS
PROCOR cops burned over P57-M worth of marijuana plants and confiscated over P38-K worth of shabu during a week-long implementation of intensified anti-illegal drugs operations conducted from May 14–20, 2023.
Citing the records from the PROCOR’s Regional Operations Division (ROD), the marijuana eradication operations conducted in the provinces of Benguet and Kalinga resulted in the discovery of a total of 227, 470 pieces of Fully-Grown Marijuana Plants (FGMJP), 3,360 pieces of marijuana seedlings and 95, 000 grams of marijuana stalks, with an overall Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 57, 028, 400.00. Meanwhile, a total of 5.63 grams of shabu with an overall Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 38, 284.00 were confiscated and eight drug personalities were arrested in a separate anti-illegal drugs operation conducted region-wide.
The arrested suspects were identified as Christian Albert Garcia, 55; Belvet Palma, 47; Raysun Jacob, 39; Ramil Ong, 54; Chester Mamma, 19; Jay Ralph Casidsid, 18; Dave Perez, 19; and Obbed Cangitit, 41.
All arrested suspects are now facing charges of violating R.A. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
FOUR LOOSE FIREARMS RECOVERED,
ONE SUSPECT ARRESTED
As part of PROCOR’s intensified campaign against loose firearms, four (4) loose firearms were recovered in the provinces of Abra, Ifugao, and Kalinga on May 20, 2023.
According to the reports submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR., two (2) loose firearms were surrendered to Abra cops; one (1) loose firearm was surrendered to Ifugao cops, and one (1) loose firearm was confiscated by Kalinga cops.
In Abra, Brgy. Kagawad Miguel Damagen Pagada of Brgy. San Ramon East, voluntarily surrendered one (1) caliber .22 revolver to Manabo Municipal Police Station (MPS), while in Tineg, Mylene Margarette Quezada Sepong, 47 years old, surrendered one (1) homemade shotgun to Tineg MPS.
In Ifugao, Hon. Elorde A. Julian voluntarily surrendered one (1) Cal 38 revolver to Alfonso Lista MPS.
The said firearms are now under the custody of their respective operating units for documentation before their turn-over to their Provincial Forensic Unit for Integrated Ballistic Identification System (IBIS).
Meanwhile, in Kalinga, police officers confiscated one (1) caliber .38 from a suspect identified as Joel Agger Arcio, 24 years old in Brgy. Nambaran Tabuk City after he failed to provide pertinent documents of the said firearm.
The firearm is now in the custody of Tabuk City Police Station while the suspect will be facing charges for violation of R.A. 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
OVER 9.4M WORTH OF MARIJUANA
SEIZED IN BENGUET
As part of PROCOR’s continued efforts to stop marijuana cultivation in the region, Benguet cops have conducted a simultaneous marijuana eradication operation that led to the discovery of over P9.4-M worth of marijuana plants in Benguet on May 20, 2023.
In Brgy. Badeo, Kibungan, joint anti-illegal drugs operatives of the Benguet 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) uprooted and burned a total of 980 pieces of Fully-Grown Marijuana Plants (FGMP), 320 seedlings, and 75 kilograms of Dried Marijuana Stalks with an overall total Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PHP 9,328,800, joint anti-illegal drugs operatives of the Kibungan Municipal Police Station (MPS) and 2nd Benguet PMFC discovered two (2) marijuana seedbeds in Sitio Lococ, Brgy. Badeo, Kibungan with more or less 2600 pieces of marijuana seedlings planted with an SDP of PhP 104,000.00.
Additional 140 pcs of FGMJP with a total Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PhP 28,000.00 were discovered by joint anti-illegal drugs operatives of the Atok MPS and 1st Benguet PMFC im Sitio Patiknan, Brgy., Caliking, Atok, Benguet.
All marijuana plants were uprooted and burned on-site while an investigation is ongoing to identify the possible cultivators
