Four drug personalities busted in a day ops in Cordi
Four (4) drug personalities will now be facing charges for violations of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, after they were arrested in separate buy-bust operations conducted in different provinces of the Cordillera on August 14, 2023.
Based on the reports submitted to PRO Cordillera Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR., the arrested suspects were identified as Exel Gandeza Baro, 43 years old; Juvina Osud Baro, 49 years old; and Rolly Navia Alban, 41 years old, identified as Street Level individuals (SLI); and Ryan Pajardo Carino, 41 years old, identified as High Value individual (HVI).
In Abra, suspects Exel Baro and Juvina Baro were arrested by joint operatives of the Abra Police Provincial Office and Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 (RMFB15) after they sold one (1) sachet of suspected “shabu” weighing more or less 0.16 grams with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of 1,020.00 to a police operative acting as a poseur buyer.
In the course of their arrest, another 0.16 grams of suspected “shabu” with an SDP of Php 1,020.00 were recovered from the suspect’s possession. Also, according to the operatives, the suspects were newly identified drug personalities. They were both under surveillance for months before their arrest.
In Benguet, joint operatives of the Benguet Police Provincial Office, Regional Intelligence Division (RID), and PDEA-CAR arrested suspect Carino after he sold one (1) sachet of suspected “shabu” weighing more or less 0.37 grams with an SDP of Php 2,516.00.
Also, in Baguio City, suspect Alban was captured by joint operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit, BCPO Camdas Police Station, City Intelligence Unit (CIU), and RID-COR after he sold one (1) sachet of suspected “shabu” weighing more or less 1.87 grams with an SDP amounting to Php 12,375.00.
The markings and inventory of the confiscated pieces of evidence were conducted on-site in the presence of the arrested suspects and witnessed by Department of Justice Representatives, Barangay officials, and Media Representatives.
Meanwhile, the suspect and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought into the custody of their respective units for documentation and proper disposition.
CTG ABANDONED ENCAMPMENT DISCOVERED IN MT. PROVINCE
Joint operatives from the different units of the Mt. Province Police Provincial Office (PPO) discovered an abandoned Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) Encampment in the mountainous area of Mount Ampucao, Brgy. Balugan, Sagada, Mt Province, in the morning of August 15, 2023.
Citing reports submitted to PRO Cordillera Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR., police officers of the Mt. Province PPO under the leadership of PCOL SIBLY DAWIGUEY, JR., together with personnel from the Regional Intelligence Division (RID), Regional Intelligence Unit-14 (RIU-14), 143 Special Action Company (SAC), 14 Special Action Battalion (SAB) of the PNP Special Action Force (SAF), and the Naval Intelligence Security Group-North Luzon (NISG NL) discovered the said camp while they were conducting reconnaissance and combat patrol operations.
Operatives also discovered one (1) flag of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP); one (1) flag with markings of the Cordillera People’s Democratic Front (CPDF); one (1) flag with markings of the CPP NDFP; one (1) flag with the markings of “Bagong Hukbong Bayan” (BHB); one (1) M16 short magazine; one (1) portable radio; assorted clothes; educational paraphernalia; and personal belongings believed to be owned by members of the CTGs.
The said items are under the custody of the operating troops prior to their turnover to Sagada MPS for documentation and proper disposition.
Meanwhile, operating troops continue to search adjacent areas of the CTG encampment for the possible recovery of other subversive materials. **
