MANHUNT OPS NETS 30 WANTED PERSONALITIES; 60 MUNICIPALITIES
RECORDED ZERO CRIME
The intensified implementation of the anti-criminality strategies and law enforcement campaign of the PRO Cordillera resulted in the arrest of thirty individuals wanted by the law, while sixty municipalities in the region recorded zero crime incidents from October 15 to 21, 2023.
Based on the records from the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division of PRO Cordillera, the Napino cops of Baguio City Police Office recorded the highest number of arrests, with thirteen wanted persons apprehended, followed by the Luminawa cops of Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO) with six (6) arrests; the Cabalyero cops of Benguet PPO with five (5) arrests; the Hagiyo cops of Ifugao PPO and Abante cops of Abra PPO with two (2) arrests each; and the Inayan cops of the Mountain Province PPO and Pasindayaw cops of the Apayao PPO with one (1) arrest each.
Of the arrested personalities, four (4) individuals were listed as Most Wanted Persons (MWP), of whom two (2) are listed at the provincial level, one (1) at the city level, and one (1) at the municipal level.
Further, during the same week, sixty municipalities in the different provinces of the region and two (2) police stations in Baguio City recorded zero crime incidents.
Zero crime incidents were recorded in the twenty-three municipalities in Abra; six (6) municipalities in Apayao; nine (9) municipalities in Benguet; six (6) municipalities in Kalinga; eight (8) municipalities in Ifugao; eight (8) in Mountain Province; and two city police stations of the Baguio City Police Office.
PRO Cordillera cops are continuously conducting intensified police operations, police visibility, and community engagement to ensure peace and order in the communities and the safety of the public, especially in preparation for the upcoming Barangay and Sanguniang Kabataan Elections 2023.
PRO CORDILLERA’S WEEKLONG OPS NETS OVER 6-M ILLEGAL DRUGS
The PRO Cordillera cops have seized a total of Php 6,743,604.00 worth of illegal drugs and nabbed six (6) drug personalities in separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted from October 15–21, 2023, regionwide.
Citing records from the PRO Cordillera’s Regional Operations Division, the six (6) drug personalities were arrested after they were caught in possession of a total of 9.13 grams of shabu, with an overall Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 62,084.00.
The same report disclosed that three (3) arrests were made by the operatives of the Baguio City Police Office, followed by the Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO), Abra PPO, and Ifugao PPO.
The suspects were identified as Abdullah Lawi, 30 years old; Teeven Dumeg, 22 years old; Diana Manggad, 33 years old; Felix Biwag Jr., 41 years old; Gyver Cayatoc, 33 years old; and Mc Nicko Martin, 30 years old.
All arrested suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to their respective arresting units, while charges for violating the R.A. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, were being prepared against them.
Meanwhile, in separate marijuana eradication operations, ten (10) clandestine marijuana plantation sites with a total of 33,350 Fully Grown Marijuana Plants, and 900 Marijuana Seedlings with an overall SDP of Php 6, 681, 520.00 were discovered in the provinces of Benguet and Kalinga.
These were all burned by operatives after documentation, and follow-up operations are being conducted to identify possible marijuana cultivators. Also, police officers are continuously conducting barangay visitation and information operations regarding the anti-illegal drugs campaign of the PNP. **
