SEARCH WARRANT YIELDS P170K SHABU, HIGH VALUE DRUG PERSONALITY ARRESTED
PRO Cordillera’s anti-illegal drugs efforts continue to gain ground following the arrest of another high value drug personality and the seizure of Php170,000.00 worth of illegal drugs after the implementation of two search warrants in Sitio Central, Brgy Poblacion, Paracelis, Mountain Province on November 7, 2023.
Based on the reports submitted to the PRO Cordillera Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR, the arrested suspect was identified as Clarence Chongawen Gunday, 42 years old, listed as a High Value Individual (HVI).
According to the same report, joint operatives of the Mountain Province Police Provincial Office (PPO), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) – Mountain Province, and Regional Intelligence Division, implemented Search Warrant No. SW 2023-2 for Violation of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Search Warrant No. SW 2023-3 for Violation of RA 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
During the search, operatives arrested suspect Gunday after they discovered from his residence 10 sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of more or less 25 grams and a Standard Drug Price amounting to Php170,000.00, assorted drug paraphernalia, one caliber .22 rifle with scope and silencer, one caliber .22 revolver, and various ammunition.
The markings and inventory of the pieces of evidence recovered were done on-site in the presence of the suspect and witnessed by Barangay Kagawads of Brgy Poblacion, Hon. Luis C. Dontogan and Hon. David L. Bucad; and media representative, Mr. Daryle C. Fayofay.
Further, the suspect and confiscated firearms are in the custody of Paracelis Municipal Police Station, while the seized drug evidence is in the custody of PDEA- Mountain Province for proper disposition.
