HIGH VALUE DRUG PERSONALITY BUSTED; P252K WORTH OF ILLEGAL DRUGS SEIZED
A barangay tanod listed as a high-value drug personality was arrested, and a total of Php 252,680.00 worth of illegal drugs were seized in separate anti-illegal drugs operations conducted in the provinces of Abra and Benguet on November 14, 2023.
Based on the reports submitted to PRO Cordillera Regional Director PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO JR. the arrested suspect was identified as Jimmy Sumalnap Dela Rosa, Jr., 40 years old and a resident of Pidigan, Abra.
In Abra, joint operatives of the Abra Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), Abra Provincial Intelligence Unit, and Pidigan Municipal Police Station arrested suspect Dela Rosa at Sitio Nagdaingan, Pangtud, Pidigan, after he sold two sachets of suspected “shabu” weighing MOL 10.1 grams with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 68,680.00 to a police operative acting as a poseur buyer.
The arrested suspect and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the Abra PPO PDEU office for documentation and proper disposition, while charges for violations of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against him.
Meanwhile, in a separate marijuana eradication operation conducted in the province of Benguet, two marijuana plantation sites with MOL 920 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants with an overall SDP of Php 184,000.00 were discovered in the municipality of Kibungan, Benguet.
All discovered marijuana plants were uprooted and burned on-site by the operatives after documentation, while follow-up operations are being conducted to identify the marijuana cultivators.

Cordillera Police officers took oath
200 newly appointed Patrolmen and Patrolwomen formally took their oath as the newest members of the Police Regional Office (PRO) Cordillera in a ceremony held at the Masigasig Grandstand, Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet on November 13, 2022.
The event was graced by the PRO Cordillera Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR, as the Guest of Honor and Speaker and as the Administering Officer of the ceremony.
As part of the program, the Chief of the Regional Recruitment and Selection Unit- Cordillera, PLTCOL RICHARD B ALBON, presented the candidates for appointment, while the Chief of the Regional Personnel Records and Management Division, PCOL ARNOLD D RAZOTE, read the appointment orders of the 200 newly appointed police officers, composed of 142 Patrolmen and 58 Patrolwomen.
Afterward, PBGEN PEREDO, JR administered the oath-taking of the newly appointed cops, which was then followed by the ceremonial awarding of the ATM Cards to the appointees.
In his message, the Regional Director challenged the newly appointed Patrolmen and Patrolwomen to prove to PRO Cordillera that they deserve to be one of the police officers of the “Home of the Most Disciplined Cops.”
“Now, I am challenging every one of you to give your best and to not be discouraged by the criticisms. I, as your Regional Director, together with the PRO Cordillera Command Group, assure you that we will be here to guide you, inspire you, and bring out the best in you for the Cordillera people and to God Almighty,” PBGEN PEREDO added.
Present also to witness the ceremony were the Regional Director of the National Police Commission-CAR, Ms. Editha S Puddoc; the President of the PRO Cordillera Officers Ladies Club, Ms. Arlene B Olsim; the City Administrator of Baguio City, Engr. Bonifacio Dela Peña, who represented the Mayor of Baguio City, Hon. Benjamin Magalong; the Branch Manager of Landbank of the Philippines- Naguilian Branch, Ms. Prescila Quinto; and the Branch Manager of Landbank of the Philippines- La Trinidad Branch, Mr. Genaro Dumpayan.
After the oath-taking ceremony, the 200 newly appointed Patrolmen and Patrolwomen will undergo six months of Public Safety Basic Recruit Course followed by six months of Field Training Program as part of their preparations to become full-fledged police officers. **
