Over P5M worth of MJ bricks discovered in Kalinga
The immediate action of the Lumin-awa Cops of Kalinga Police Provincial Office Police (PPO) led to the discovery of over P5M worth of marijuana bricks at Sitio Jangayoy, Brgy Dangoy, Lubuagan, Kalinga on November 20, 2023.
According to reports submitted to PRO Cordillera Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR, the operatives of Lubuagan Municipal Police Station (MPS) and 2nd Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company received information that an unidentified male rider was transporting marijuana bricks from Tinglayan to Tabuk City and another tip-off about a motorcycle rider who unloaded a baggage beside the road at Sitio Jangayoy.
Acting on the said information, police operatives immediately conducted a search along the national road towards Brgy Poblacion, Lubuagan and found a duffle bag partially covered with leaves and branches.
Upon inspection, the operatives discovered that the bag contained 49 pieces of marijuana bricks weighing more or less 49,000 grams with a Standard Drug Price of Php5,880,000.00.
Markings and inventory of the discovered pieces of evidence were conducted on-site in the presence of Barangay Kagawad John M Ta-od of Brgy Dangoy.
The recovered marijuana bricks were brought to Lubuagan MPS for proper documentation and transferred to the Kalinga Provincial Forensic Unit for examination while manhunt operation and a thorough investigation is still ongoing for the possible arrest of the suspect.
“SALAMAT KAPATID”: PRO CORDILLERA HONORS FOUR RETIRING COPS
The Police Regional Office Cordillera (PRO Cordillera) Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR, led the men and women of PRO Cordillera in honoring the commitment and dedication to service shown by four retiring cops through the PNP retirement ceremony known as the “Salamat Kapatid Program,” held at the Masigasig Grandstand, Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet, on November 17, 2023.
The honorees who had their final walk into the hallowed ground of PRO Cordillera were: PCPT FAUSTINO C LANG-AKHAN; PLT BONIFACIO B COLBONG; PLT MELVIN C CANTE; and PEMS Samson C Bliss.
The program was graced by the Regional Director and attended by other members of the PRO Cordillera Command Group, Regional Staff, other PRO Cordillera personnel, and family & friends of the retirees.
As a highlight of the program, PBGEN PEREDO, JR, presented the Medalya ng Paglilingkod and Plaques to the honorees for their dedication and invaluable services to the Philippine National Police.
Also, a Certificate of Recognition was given to the families of the retirees as an expression of appreciation for their support, love, and sacrifice in the successful performance of the honorees’ duties to the organization.
Representing the retirees, PCPT LANG-AKHAN delivered his valedictory message, thanking the PNP and PRO Cordillera for honing him to become an honorable member of the organization and keeping with him the mandate to serve and protect the Filipino people.
