SEVEN PRO CORDILLERA COPS AWARDED FOR THEIR NOTABLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Seven PRO Cordillera cops who have greatly contributed to the attainment of the vision and mission of the Philippine National Police were awarded and recognized during the Traditional Monday Flag Raising Ceremony held at the Masigasig Grandstand, Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet on February 12, 2024.
The awarding was led by the PRO Cordillera Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR, together with the other members of the command group.
The Medalya ng Kagalingan (PNP Medal of Merit) was awarded to PMAJ NIXON T BUDIKEY and Patrolwoman Debie M Dalisan of the Baguio City Police Office for the successful buy-bust operation that resulted in the arrest of a drug personality listed as a Street Level Individual and the confiscation of one sachet of shabu in Brgy. Sta. Escolastica, Baguio City.
The same award was given to PCPT JOHNNY B SABALI and PCpl Joshua C Gumidam of the Apayao Police Provincial Office (PPO) for the successful service of a warrant of arrest against an individual listed as No. 5 Most Wanted Person at the Provincial level for the crime of attempted murder in Brgy. Madduang, Kabugao, Apayao.
Another Medalya ng Kagalingan was given to PCpl Jemuel G Madino and PCpl Juniver P Penuliar of the Benguet PPO for the successful service of a warrant of arrest against an individual listed as No. 7 Most Wanted Person at the Provincial level for the crime of Statutory Rape and two counts of Acts of Lasciviousness in Brgy. Pag-asa, Olongapo City.
Further, Medalya ng Kasanayan (PNP Efficiency Medal) was awarded to PMAJ ALEXANDER V PARDO of the Regional Pastoral Office, for his invaluable service as the Regional Pastoral Officer of PRO Cordillera which contributed to the attainment of PRO Cordillera’s vision and mission to help strengthen the morale and spiritual growth of PRO Cordillera personnel.
OVER P1.2M WORTH OF ILLEGAL DRUGS SEIZED; HIGH VALUE DRUG PERSONALITY BUSTED
A total of Php1, 228,423.00 worth of illegal drugs were seized and a high value drug personality was arrested in separate anti-illegal drugs operations conducted in the provinces of Benguet and Abra on February 9, 2024.
Citing the reports submitted to PRO Cordillera Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO JR, the anti-illegal drug operatives of Benguet Police Provincial Office, Regional Intelligence Division, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit/Provincial Intelligence Unit, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Cordillera, uprooted and burned a total of 6100 pcs of fully grown marijuana plants (FGMP) with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php1,220,000.00 in two marijuana plantation sites in Sitio Ambilong, Tacadang and Sitio Baliw-ang, Badeo, both in Kibungan.
After proper documentation, all discovered marijuana plants were uprooted and burned on-site while investigations are still ongoing to identify the possible marijuana cultivators in the area.
Meanwhile, in Abra, a High Value Individual, identified as Edwin P Brazil, also known as Intoy, 43y/o, was arrested by the joint anti-illegal drugs operatives of Abra Police Provincial Office, 1504th Maneuver Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion15; Abra Provincial EOD and Canine Unit; and the Regional Intelligence Division after he sold one plastic sachet of suspected shabu weighing more or less (MOL) 0.63 gram with SDP of Php 4,284.00 to an operative who acted as a poseur buyer.
Further, in the course of his arrest, another sachet of suspected “shabu” weighing MOL 0.61 gram with SDP of Php 4,148.00 was recovered from his possession. Also, one cal. 45 pistol with inserted magazine loaded with three ammunition was also recovered from the suspect.
Inventory of confiscated pieces of evidence was conducted onsite in the presence of the suspect, Media representative Jerum P. Bachiller of DZNS and Barangay Chairman Jimmy Biñegas of Cabaroan, Dolores, Abra.
The suspect and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to Villaviciosa MPS for documentation prior to filing of appropriate charges.
