FIVE DRUG PERSONALITIES ARRESTED; OVER P5.1M WORTH OF
ILLEGAL DRUGS SEIZED IN KALINGA
As a result of the continuous conduct of anti-illegal drugs operations by the Police Regional Office Cordillera, a total of Php5,108,000.00 worth of illegal drugs were confiscated in the province of Kalinga on February 22, 2024.
In Tabuk City, a Street Level Individual was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted in Brgy Tuga after the operatives recovered from his possession two sachets of suspected shabu weighing more or less (MOL) 10 grams with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php68,000.00.
The operation was conducted by the joint operatives of Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU)/Provincial Intelligence (PIU) of Kalinga PPO, Tabuk City Police Station, 1st Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), Regional Intelligence Division, PDEG SOU-14, Regional Intelligence Unit-14, RMFB15, SAF and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Kalinga.
Meanwhile, in Lubuagan, the joint personnel of 2nd PMFC, Lubuagan Municipal Police Station (MPS), PIU/PDEU Kalinga PPO, PECU-Kalinga, PDEG SOU-CAR, RMFB15, and PDEA-Kalinga, arrested four individuals, who were identified as residents of Bulacan, after they ignored and tried to evade the established checkpoint in Sitio Dinakan, Brgy Dangoy, and upon inspection of their vehicle, the operatives discovered that it contained 42 pieces of dried marijuana bricks weighing MOL 42,000 grams with an SDP of Php5,040,000.00.
All the arrested suspects and pieces of evidence were brought to the custody of the respective units in charge for documentation and proper disposition while charges for violation of the R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared against the suspects.
PASINDAYAW COPS RECOVERED MORE THAN P35-K WORTH OF
ABANDONED LUMBER
As part of PRO Cordillera’s intensified campaign against illegal logging, the Pasindayaw cops of the Apayao Police Provincial Office recovered a total of P35,310.00 worth of illegally sawn lumber in the Province of Apayao from February 26 to 27, 2024.
According to Santa Marcela Municipal Police Station (MPS), a team led by the Deputy Chief of Police, PLT JUEVES A SALTIN, immediately responded after receiving information from a concerned citizen regarding the sighted abandoned illegally sawn lumber along the River Banks in Purok 2, Brgy. Barocboc, Santa Marcela.
Upon arrival, responding police officers, together with personnel from the CENRO-Calanasan, found and recovered 11 pieces of Tanguile lumber with a total volume of 337 board feet, amounting to PhP10,110.00. All the recovered lumber were hauled and brought to CENRO-Calanasan Bagutong for proper disposition.
Meanwhile, joint operatives of the 1st Apayao Provincial Mobile Force Company, RID PROCOR, and CENRO Calanasan-Luna also recovered 60 pieces of abandoned Tanguile lumber worth PhP25,200.00 in Brgy. Malibang, Pudtol, after responding to a phone call regarding abandoned lumber. These were all brought to the CENRO Calanasan-Luna Sub Office at Sitio Payanan in Brgy. San Gregorio, Luna, for proper disposition.
Pasindayaw cops are now conducting a thorough investigation to identify possible suspects, while they are also conducting information drives regarding PD 705 or the Revised Forestry Code of the Philippines for the residents.
