Over P4.3M worth of MJ products seized in Kalinga; 3 drug personalities arrested
As part of the intensified campaign against illegal drugs, more than P4.3M worth of marijuana products were seized and three individuals were apprehended by the Lumin-awa cops during a routinary checkpoint in Brgy Dangoy, Lubuagan, Kalinga on March 2, 2024.
Based on the reports received by the PRO Cordillera Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR, the three suspects, who were identified as residents of Paso Deblas, Valenzuela, were arrested by the joint operatives of 2nd Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company, Lubuagan Municipal Police Station (MPS), Provincial Intelligence Unit/ Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, and PDEA- Kalinga, after they tried to evade the established checkpoint at Sitio Dinakan, Brgy Dangoy.
Upon inspection of their vehicle, the operatives discovered that it contained marijuana products consisting of 35 bricks of dried marijuana and one piece of dried marijuana in tubular form weighing more or less 36 kilograms with a total Standard Drug Price amounting to Php4,320,000.00.
The inventory was conducted onsite in the presence of the suspects and witnessed by DOJ Representative, Mr. Kelvin Owek; Barangay Kawagad of Brgy Dangoy, Mr. Botsie Pilaked; and media representative Hermenegilda Chico.
The arrested suspects and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the custody of Lubuagan MPS for proper disposition while charges for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared against the suspects.
Acting chief, RICTMD of PROCOR, now promoted to full-pledged police colonel
The Acting Chief of the Regional Information and Communications Technology Management Division of PRO Cordillera, PCOL VIVIAN B PACLIBON, is now a full-fledged Police Colonel following the Oath-Taking and Donning of Ranks Ceremony held at the PRO Cordillera Log Cabin, Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet on March 4, 2024.
As the highlight of the program, the Chief of the Regional Personnel and Records Management Division, PCOL ARNOLD D RAZOTE, read the promotion order, while the Regional Pastoral Officer, Rev. Fr. (PMAJ) ALEXANDER V PARDO, led the blessing of the rank insignias and accouterments; followed by the oath-taking and donning of ranks administered by the PRO Cordillera Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR.
Present during the ceremony were the family and friends of PCOL PACLIBON, the members of the PNPA Class “Magilas” 2000, and other PRO Cordillera personnel.
In his message, PBGEN PEREDO, JR congratulated the newly promoted full-fledged Police Colonel for her outstanding achievement of being promoted to a higher rank.
Additionally, the Regional Director emphasized to the PRO Cordillera cops the importance of patience and timing as they await their turn for their own promotion.
Furthermore, PCOL PACLIBON expressed her gratitude to the Regional Director, the members of the PNPA Class “Magilas” 2000, the personnel of PRO Cordillera, and her family for their steadfast support in helping her reach another milestone in her career.**
