WEEKLONG DRUG OPS NETS OVER P6-MILLION WORTH OF ILLEGAL DRUGS
A total of PhP6,778,120.00 worth of illegal drugs and two drug personalities were arrested by PRO Cordillera cops in separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted from March 4 to 10, 2024, regionwide.
According to reports from the Regional Operations Division, the arrests were made after the suspects were found in possession of a combined total of 0.90 grams of Shabu, with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PhP6,120.00.
The same reports disclosed that anti-illegal drug operatives from the Apayao Police Provincial Office (PPO) arrested a 43-year-old female listed as a Street Level Individual in Brgy. Poblacion, Kabugao, Apayao, while the Baguio City Police Office operatives arrested a 34-year-old male listed as High high-value individual in Brgy. Happy Homes Baguio City.
The arrested suspects and seized pieces of evidence were turned over to the respective arresting units, while charges for violating R.A. 9165 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against them.
Meanwhile, in separate marijuana eradication operations, operatives discovered 33,800 Fully Grown Marijuana Plants and 300 seedlings, with an estimated SDP of PhP6,772,000.00 in seven plantation sites in the provinces of Benguet and Kalinga.
All the discovered illegal drugs were burned after documentation, while follow-up operations are underway to locate other marijuana plantation sites and cultivators. Additionally, police officers continue to engage in barangay visitations and informational campaigns to reinforce the PNP’s anti-illegal drug efforts.
In observance of National Women’s Month, the policewomen of the 1st Ifugao Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) initiated a Tree Planting Activity and Clean-up Drive at Brgy. Bitu, Hingyon Ifugao.
Joined by counterparts from the Hingyon Municipal Police Station and the Hingyon Women’s Organization, the team not only planted mahogany and narra seedlings but also conducted a clean-up drive showing their commitment to both environmental sustainability and community welfare.
During the tree planting activity, a total of 150 mahogany and narra seedlings were planted to replenish the area’s green cover and foster the healthy growth of other trees there.
This initiative aligns with the PNP’s Core Value of “MAKAKALIKASAN,” emphasizing the importance of environmental stewardship through tree planting and highlighting collaborative efforts among various agencies to promote environmental awareness.
