LUMIN-AWA COPS BURN OVER 17,000 PIECES OF MARIJUANA PLANTS IN TINGLAYAN, KALINGA
The persistent efforts of the Lumin-awa cops of the Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO) to eliminate marijuana cultivation in the province of Kalinga have resulted in the destruction of over 17,000 pieces of marijuana plants in Tinglayan on May 26, 2024.
According to Kalinga PPO, a marijuana eradication operation was conducted by the joint operatives of 2nd Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company, Tinglayan Municipal Police Station, Regional Intelligence Division- PRO Cordillera, Provincial Intelligence Unit/Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of Kalinga PPO, and PDEA-Kalinga in Brgy Ngibat that resulted in the discovery of more or less than 17,160 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants with a Standard Drug Price of Php3,432,000.00.
All the discovered marijuana plants were burned onsite, and enough samples were taken to the Kalinga Provincial Forensic Unit-Cordillera for qualitative tests, while the operatives continued to conduct investigations to locate other marijuana plantation sites and apprehend cultivators.
The PRO Cordillera Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR, commended the recent successes of the operating units, noting that these achievements underscore the PRO Cordillera’s steadfast dedication to eradicating illegal drug activities in the region. The collaborative efforts also play a crucial role in fostering a secure and drug-free environment for the local residents of Cordillera.
The Inayan cops of Mt Province Police Provincial Office (PPO) successfully conducted a 3-day Youth Leadership Summit, culminating in a closing ceremony held in Brgy. Abatan, Bauko, Mt Province, on May 25, 2024.
During the ceremony, the Deputy Provincial Director for Administration of Mt Province PPO, PLTCOL CRISANTE P SADINO, presented certificates of completion to 44 youth students from Abatan National High School who actively participated in the summit.
The 3-day summit with the theme “Moving the Youth Program for Development” was held from May 23–25, 2024, wherein the youth members underwent a series of lectures and interactive activities that would help boost their skills and knowledge in becoming future leaders of our society.
This successful event was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Bauko Training Center, 54th Infantry “Magilas” Battalion, Mountain Province Youth Organization, Abatan National High School, and Abatan BLGU.
Additionally, the summit was supported by the Inayan cops of Bauko Municipal Police Station (MPS), Sabangan MPS, 1st Mountain Province Provincial Mobile Force Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15, the Philippine Air Force, youth members of the “Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo,” parents, teachers, and other stakeholders.
BENGUET COPS DISCOVER OVER P10.8M WORTH OF MARIJUANA IN KIBUNGAN AND MANKAYAN
As a result of the intensified campaign of the PNP against illegal drugs, a total of Php10,812,000.00 worth of marijuana was discovered by the Cabalyero cops of the Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) in separate marijuana eradications conducted in the municipalities of Kibungan and Mankayan, Benguet, on May 25, 2024.
In Kibungan, the joint operatives of Kibungan Municipal Police Station (MPS), PIU/PDEU-Benguet PPO, Regional Intelligence Division (RID)-PRO Cordillera, and PDEA-CAR discovered approximately 90 kilograms of dried marijuana stalks with fruiting tops in a communal forest in Sitio Ginawang, Brgy. Poblacion.
The said marijuana was piled and concealed under a rock shade covered with plastic canvas and has a total Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PhP10,800.000.00.
Meanwhile, in Mankayan, the joint operatives of Mankayan MPS, Bugias MPS, 1st Benguet Provincial Mobile Force Company, PIU/PDEU-Benguet PPO, RID-PRO Cordillera, and 1502nd Maneuver Company of RMFB15 conducted marijuana eradication in Sitio Dowag, Brgy. Guinaoang, which led to the discovery of 60 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants with an SDP of PhP12,000.00.
All the discovered marijuana was documented and burned onsite, while enough samples were taken for submission to the Regional Forensic Unit-Cordillera for a qualitative test.
Additionally, the Benguet police are actively pursuing investigations to identify additional marijuana plantation sites and apprehend those responsible for cultivation.**
