Lumin-awa cops eradicate P10.9M worth of MJ in Kalinga
In their ongoing campaign against marijuana cultivation in Kalinga province, the Lumin-awa cops of the Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO) discovered and burned marijuana plants worth over P10 million in Tinglayan, Kalinga on June 30, 2024.
According to reports from the Regional Operations Division of PRO-CAR, the PNP Drug Enforcement Group, Special Operation Unit-CAR, along with the Tinglayan Municipal Police Station, the 2nd Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company, and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15, conducted a marijuana eradication operation in Brgy. Ngibat, which led to the discovery of two plantation sites planted with approximately 54,500 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants with a Standard Drug Price of PhP10,900,000.00.
All discovered marijuana plants were uprooted and burned on-site while the operatives were conducting an intensive investigation to identify and apprehend possible cultivators.
PRO-CAR cops seize over P1.2M worth of illegal drugs in Abra and Kalinga
As a result of PRO-CAR’s continuous campaign against illegal drugs, a total of Php1,206,800.00 worth of illegal drugs were seized, and a newly identified street level drug personality was arrested during separate operations conducted in Abra and Kalinga on July 1, 2024.
In Abra, the joint operatives of Abra PPO Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU)/ Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), Bangued Municipal Police Station (MPS), San Juan MPS, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15, Regional Intelligence Unit 14 (RIU14), and Regional Intelligence Division conducted a buy-bust operation in Brgy Lingtan, Bangued, that led to the arrest of a newly identified Street Level Individual and the seizure of approximately 1 gram of shabu with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php6,800.00.
After the onsite markings and inventory, the suspect and the evidence recovered were brought to the custody of PDEU for documentation and proper disposition.
The suspect will be facing charges for violation of R.A. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, in Kalinga, over P1M worth of dried marijuana leaves and stalks were seized during an anti-criminality checkpoint conducted by the joint personnel of 2nd Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company, Pasil MPS, Kalinga PPO PIU, and RMFB15.
Based on the reports, an unidentified person driving a motorcycle speedily passed by and disregarded the checkpoint established in Sitio Dinakan, Brgy Dangoy, Lubuagan, which prompted the police officers to launch a hot-pursuit operation that led to the discovery of the said motorcycle abandoned and crashed along the National Road in Sitio Pokcha, Brgy Cagaluan, Pasil.
Upon inspection, the operatives discovered that the motorcycle was loaded with 10 bricks of dried marijuana leaves and stalks weighing approximately 10 kilograms with an SDP of Php1,200,000.00.
The inventory of the recovered evidence was conducted on-site in the presence of witnesses and subsequently turned over to the Provincial Forensic Unit- Kalinga for qualitative testing. Meanwhile, an ongoing investigation is being conducted to identify and apprehend the driver of the said motorcycle.
