KALINGA POLICE ARREST STREET LEVEL DRUG PERSONALITY IN TABUK CITY
As a result of the continuous fight against illegal drugs, the Lumin-awa Cops of the Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO) arrested a street level drug personality in a buy-bust operation conducted in Brgy. Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga on September 29, 2024.
According to the report from the Regional Operations Division, a 26-year-old male identified as a Street Level Individual was arrested after he sold one sachet containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 1.00 gram with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PhP6,800.00 to an operative who acted as a poseur buyer.
Moreover, during his arrest, another three sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 4.00 grams with a total SDP of PhP27,200.00 were recovered from his possession.
The arrest was made successful through the concerted efforts of the operatives from the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) and Provincial Intelligence Unit of Kalinga PPO, Tabuk City Police Station, Pasil Municipal Police Station, 1st Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company, Regional Intelligence Division of PRO-CAR, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Kalinga.
The inventory and marking of the confiscated pieces of evidence were conducted on-site in the presence of the arrested suspect and duly witnessed by Ms. Lailanie Dumpao, DOJ representative; Ms. Hermenegilda Chico and Ms. Ramilyn Pabunan, media representatives; and Hon. Antonio Caldingo, Barangay Kagawad of Brgy. Bulanao Centro.
Subsequently, the arrested suspect and the evidence seized were brought to the PDEU for documentation and proper disposition. Meanwhile, the suspect is now detained and will be held accountable for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
PRO-CAR’S WEEKLONG ANTI-CRIMINALITY CAMPAIGN NETS 21 WANTED PERSONS, 64 MUNICIPALITIES RECORD ZERO CRIME INCIDENCE
In the relentless campaign of the Philippine National Police against criminality, the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO-CAR) intensified the implementation of its weeklong anti-criminality law enforcement operations, leading to the arrest of 21 wanted individuals, while 64 municipalities across the region recorded zero crime incidents from September 27 to October 3, 2024.
Based on the records from the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division of PRO-CAR, Baguio City Police Office recorded the highest number of arrests, apprehending eight wanted individuals, followed by Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) with four arrests, Kalinga and Mountain Province PPOs with three arrests each, and Abra, Apayao, and Ifugao PPOs with one arrest each.
Among those apprehended, four were identified as Most Wanted Persons, two listed at the Municipal Level and two listed at the Station Level.
Moreover, as a result of the heightened police presence, 64 municipalities and six police stations in Baguio City reported zero crime incidents during this period.
Specifically, no crime incidents were recorded in 25 municipalities in Abra, ten municipalities in Benguet, nine municipalities in Mountain Province, eight municipalities in Ifugao, seven municipalities in Apayao, and five municipalities in Kalinga, while in Baguio City, Police Station (PS) 2, PS3, PS5, PS7, PS9, and PS10 also recorded zero crime incidents.
Further, the anti-criminality campaign of PRO-CAR yielded positive outcomes, with a significant 60% decrease in the Peace and Order Indicator and a reduction from two to one of the average weekly crime rate compared to the same period last year.
Additionally, the campaign achieved commendable 71.43% crime clearance efficiency and 42.86% crime solution efficiency, reflecting the commitment and effectiveness of the police force in crime prevention and resolution.
