Over P6.8M worth of illegal drugs seized, drug personalities arrested
The anti-illegal drugs campaign of Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO-CAR) yielded significant results with the seizure of illegal drugs worth PhP6,824,312.00 and the arrest of nine drug personalities in a series of operations conducted from December 2 to 8, 2024.
Throughout the weeklong campaign, PRO-CAR conducted 25 anti-illegal drug operations across the region. These operations resulted in the confiscation of 21, 215 pieces of Fully Grown Marijuana Plants, 200 pieces of marijuana seedlings, 21, 000 grams of dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops, and 7.84 grams of suspected shabu, with an overall value of PhP6,824,312.00.
Additionally, the operations led to the arrest of nine drug personalities, five of whom were identified as High Value Individuals, while four were classified as Street Level Individuals.
The most notable operations took place in Benguet, where the Cabalyero Cops of Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) seized illegal drugs worth PhP5,422,904.00, and in Kalinga, where the Lumin-awa Cops of Kalinga PPO confiscated illegal drugs valued at PhP1,354,216.00. Moreover, in Baguio City, the Napino Cops of Baguio City Police Office successfully seized suspected shabu worth PhP47,192.00.
These achievements underscore the unwavering efforts of PRO-CAR in ensuring public safety and addressing the drug menace throughout the region.
PRO-CAR cops torches over P5.2M worth of marijuana in Benguet and Kalinga
The anti-illegal drugs operatives of the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO-CAR) torched a total of PhP5,210,000.00 worth of marijuana in a series of marijuana eradication operations conducted in the provinces of Benguet and Kalinga on December 10, 2024.
In Benguet, 9,890 pieces of Fully Grown Marijuana Plants (FGMJP), 800 marijuana seedlings, and 20,000 grams of dried marijuana stalks, leaves, and fruiting tops with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php4,410,000.00 were discovered by the joint operatives of Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO), Regional Intelligence Division of PRO-CAR, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Cordillera Administrative Region (PDEA-CAR) in Brgy. Kayapa, Bakun, and Brgy. Tacadang, Kibungan.
Meanwhile, in Kalinga, 4,000 pieces of FGMJP with an SDP of PhP800,000.00 were discovered by the joint operatives of Kalinga PPO, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15, and PDEA-CAR in Brgy. Ngibat, Tinglayan.
The discovered marijuana plants were uprooted and burned onsite while the concerned units are conducting follow-up investigations to locate other marijuana plantation sites and apprehend those responsible for cultivation.**
