One-Day Eradication Ops Yield Over P2.3M Worth of Marijuana Plants in Kalinga and Benguet
The Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) successfully discovered and destroyed PhP2,358,000.00 worth of marijuana plants in a series of marijuana eradication operations conducted in the provinces of Kalinga and Benguet on April 19, 2025.
In Kalinga, 9,000 fully grown marijuana plants (FGMJP) and 1,200 marijuana seedlings with an overall Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PhP1,848,000.00 were discovered by the joint operatives of Rizal Municipal Police Station (MPS), Tinglayan MPS, 1st Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO), and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Kalinga in Brgy. Buscalan, Tinglayan and Brgy. Romualdez, Rizal.
Meanwhile, in Benguet, 2,550 FGMJP with an SDP of PhP510,000.00 were found by the joint forces of Bakun MPS, Kibungan MPS, PDEU and Provincial Intelligence Unit of Benguet PPO, Regional Intelligence Division of PRO CAR, Regional Intelligence Unit 14, and PDEA-CAR in Brgy. Badeo, Kibungan and Brgy. Kayapa, Bakun.
All discovered marijuana plants were uprooted and burned on-site, with sufficient samples collected for submission to the Regional Forensic Unit-CAR. Investigations are actively being conducted to locate other marijuana plantation sites in the surrounding areas and to apprehend those responsible for the cultivation.
These successful operations highlight the steadfast commitment of PRO CAR in combating illegal drug activities and upholding public safety across the region.
OVER P21.5M WORTH OF ILLEGAL DRUGS SEIZED, 10 DRUG PERSONALITIES ARRESTED IN PRO CAR’s WEEKLONG DRUG OPS
The Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) successfully seized illegal drugs with a total worth of PhP21,568,900.00 and apprehended ten drug personalities in a weeklong series of anti-illegal drug operations conducted from April 14 to 20, 2025.
Reports submitted to the Regional Director PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR, disclosed that 34 separate operations conducted led to the confiscation of significant quantities of marijuana, including 51,025 fully grown marijuana plants, 1,200 seedlings, and 93,605 leaves and fruiting tops, alongside 12.25 grams of shabu with a combined total Standard Drug Price of PhP21,568,900.00. Also, among the 10 arrested drug personalities, three were identified as High Value Individuals (HVI) and seven as Street Level Individuals (SLI).
The most significant operations took place in the province of Benguet, where the Cabalyero Cops of the Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) conducted 23 marijuana eradication operations and a buy-bust operation, which led to the confiscation of illegal drugs worth PhP16,878,700.00 and the arrest of an SLI.
These accomplishments were followed by the Lumin-awa Cops of the Kalinga PPO, where they conducted four marijuana eradication operations, two search warrants, and one buy-bust operation, leading to the confiscation of drugs with a total SDP of PhP3,709,200.00 and the arrest of one HVI and three SLIs.
Further, the Napino Cops of the Baguio City Police Office conducted three buy-bust operations, which led to the confiscation of suspected shabu weighing three grams worth PhP981,000.00 and the arrest of two HVIs and three SLIs.
