Bigtime ops net over P678M worth of MJ
A five-day bigtime marijuana eradication operation dubbed as Oplan Herodotus resulted in the discovery and destruction of more than P678 million worth of fully grown marijuana plants and seedlings in the hinterlands of the Cordillera from September 23-27, 2021.
A total of 72 marijuana plantations sites were discovered in Benguet, Kalinga and Mountain Province.
In Benguet, a total of 11,850 fully grown marijuana plants (FGMP) and 24,780 seedlings worth Php 3,361,200.00 were uprooted in 30 separate marijuana plantation sites discovered by the operatives.
In Kalinga, a total of 2,241,500 FGMP and 1,640 kilograms of dried marijuana leaves/stalks/fruiting tops with a total value of Php 645,100,000.00 were also uprooted in 39 marijuana plantation sites found by the troops.
While in Mountain Province, a total of 152,000 FGMP with a total value of Php 30,400,000.00 were destroyed in three marijuana plantation sites discovered by the operatives.
All uprooted marijuana plants were burned onsite by the combined operating troops of Benguet, Kalinga and Mtn Province and other Law Enforcement Agencies.
In his visit in Tinglayan, Kalinga, PBGEN LEE personally extended his appreciation to the operating personnel for their efforts and dedication.
Deserving unit and personnel recognized
For their outstanding performance, five personnel of the Police Regional Office Cordillera (PROCOR) have been awarded with PNP Medals, while a unit was awarded with a Certificate of Recognition during the Traditional Flag Raising Ceremony hosted by PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE at Masigasig, Grandstand, Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet on September 27, 2021.
From the Regional Finance Service Office 15 (RFSO15), PLTCOL ANNA LIZA MACAPINLAC and PEMS Anna Liza Cortez were given Medalya ng Kasanyan (PNP Effeciency Medal), for their invaluable service provided to the newly hired Non-Uniformed Personnel (NUP) of PROCOR.
Meanwhile, Medalya ng Papuri ( PNP Commendation Medal) was awarded to PLTCOL REYMINO PADUYAO and PSSg Jafemar Burgos of the Regional Plans and Strategy Management Unit (RPSMU) for facilitating and coordinating with the PROCOR Advisory Council in the provision and distribution of assorted food items during the conduct of Barangayanihan in Baguio City.
Similarly, Medalya ng Papuri was also awarded to PEMS Jeffrey Bonggick of Benguet PPO, for locating a missing person and reuniting him with his family on September 15, 2021.
Moreover, a Certificate of Recognition was given to the Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU) for being the Cleanest Office of the Week, PLTCOL JOSEPH BAYONGASAN, Chief RIU14, received the certificate.
Reg’l director of NAPOLOM-CAR welcomed
Police Regional Office Cordillera warmly welcomed Director Editha Puddoc of National Police Commission-CAR during the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony held at Masigasig Grandstand, Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet on September 26, 2021.
Director Puddoc was introduced by PCOL RAMIL SACULLES, Chief Regional Staff, as a lady who had started here 35 years in public service from a humble beginning, who through hard work and dedication rose to be the Director of NAPOLCOM CAR and the overseer of PNP CORDILLERA.
Her effective and efficient supervision of PROCOR contributed to the successful implementation of Patrol Plan 2030 which resulted in them being named the “Most Disciplined Cops” in the country.
In her message, Director Puddoc looked back on her more than five years as Regional Director of NAPOLCOM Cordillera and expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to supervise the Best Police Regional Office in the country.
“The men and women of Police Regional Office Cordillera have been one of my greatest pride for possessing discipline, integrity and illuminating ethical behavior in work. Having the tagline as the home of the most disciplined cops is a pride that I will carry with me everywhere I go,” she added.
As she bade farewell to the region and will be rendering service in the NAPOLCOM Central Office, she encouraged the men and women of PROCOR to stand with the acronym T-E-A-M meaning “Together Everyone Achieve More”.
