Banaue son new head of Ifugao PNP
The men and women of Ifugao Police Provincial Office (PPO) officially welcomed their newly designated provincial director, PCOL JAMES D MANGILI, during the Turnover of Command Ceremony held at the Ifugao PPO grounds in Lagawe, Ifugao October 27, 2021.
The event was graced by PROCOR Regional Director PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE as the presiding officer, and Provincial Government Officials, representatives of National Government Offices, Provincial Advisory Council, Chiefs of Police, and other stakeholders.
As part of the ceremony, PCOL JAMES D MANGILI officially received the Ifugao PPO flag and inventory book from the outgoing provincial director, PCOL DAVID D MARIANO, to symbolize the passing of authority and responsibilities.
In his relinquishment of command message, PCOL MARIANO expressed his gratitude for being once a provincial director of Ifugao PPO. He also thanked the Local Government Units (LGU), other government agencies and the community for their relentless effort and support. Likewise, he acknowledged the exemplary leadership and accomplishments of the Command Group, Station Commanders and the men and women of the Ifugao PPO. He further urged Ifugao cops and the community to sustain their good partnership in the furtherance of the programs and projects of the PNP.
Meanwhile, in his assumption of command message, PCOL MANGILI acknowledged the advocacies of the previous leadership and committed to carry on what his predecessor has started in the promotion of peace and order in the province. He enjoined the men and women of Ifugao PPO to give their utmost cooperation with him during his term for a peaceful community. Also, he accepted the challenge of serving the people of the province by laying out his platforms of governance in fighting all forms of criminality.
57 UGMO members surrender
A total of 57 individuals identified as members of the NPA’s Underground Mass Organization (UGMO) voluntarily surrendered and pledged their allegiance to the government in a program held in Brgy Sumadel, Tadian, Mountain Province on October 28, 2021.
As part of the program, the 57 former rebels, from three (3) barangays in Tadian: Brgy Bantey, Brgy Batayan and Brgy Sumadel, took their Pledge of Allegiance to the government officiated by Hon. Johnson Balaoas, municipal councilor.
Further, the different barangay officials led the burning of the CPP-NPA-NDF flags followed by the Covenant Signing.
According to Tadian MPS, the voluntary surrender and withdrawal of support of the 57 UGMO members were made possible through the continuous efforts and series of negotiations facilitated by the police officers of Mountain Province Police Provincial Office (MPPPO), Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 (RMFB 15), Regional Intelligence Unit 14 (RIU14), and members of the Philippine Army, in collaboration with the local government unit.
In the message of PCOL RUBEN B ANDISO, Mountain Province PPO provincial director, he urged the community to help the government in persuading those who were already exploited by the CPP-NPA-NDF to return to the folds of the law and free themselves from fear, running, and hiding because of a vain armed struggle.
Former“TOKHANG” surrenderer
busted in Abra
A buy-bust operation conducted by joint operatives of Abra Police Provincial Office (PPO), PDEA, and RMFB15 resulted in the arrest of an individual listed as a High Value Drug Personality in Brgy Poblacion, Dolores, Abra on November 2, 2021.
Based on the reports submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, the arrested suspect was identified as Edzel P. Zapata, 42, and also identified as a “Tokhang” surrenderer last July 2016.
H was arrested after he sold to an operative who acted as a poseur buyer one (1) plastic sachet containing suspected shabu weighing more or less 0.084 grams with Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 571.20.
Moreover, during the course of his arrest, operatives were able to recover another three (3) plastic sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 1.839 grams and SDP of Php 12,505.20 from his possession.
The inventory and marking of the pieces of evidence recovered were conducted on-site in the presence of the suspect and witnessed by Kagawad Reynerio V. Barbosa and Kagawad Carlota T. Tadeo of Brgy Poblacion and media representative Edgar Tanura.**
