P740K worth of MJ eradicated
A total of Php 740,000.00 worth of marijuana plants were discovered by Benguet cops during the anti-illegal drugs operations conducted on the mountainous area of Kibungan, Benguet on November 4 and 7, 2021.
Joint operatives of Kibungan Municipal Police Station (MPS), PIU, and PDEU Benguet conducted marijuana eradication operations that led to the discovery of a total of six (6) marijuana plantation sites: four (4) sites in Sitio Bacbacan, Brgy Poblacion and two (2) sites in Sitio Aos, Brgy Tacadang.
In Sitio Bacbacan, Brgy Poblacion, the operatives were able to discover in Site 1 a total of 300 pieces of marijuana seedlings with Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php12,000.00 cultivated on a 1 square meter seedbed lot.
Moreover, from the other three (3) sites, operatives were able to discover a total of 2,840 fully grown marijuana with an SDP of Php568,000.00 cultivated on a land area of 780 square meters.
Meanwhile, at Sitio Aos, Brgy Tacadang, from the two (2) sites, a total of 4,000 marijuana seedlings with SDP of Php160,000.00 were discovered on an 800 square meter lot.
All were uprooted and burned on-site by the operatives.
PROCOR joins 121st foundation
anniversary of Benguet
PROCOR joined the Province of Benguet in the celebration of their 121st Foundation Anniversary at the Provincial Capitol in Brgy Poblacion, La Trinidad, Benguet on November 8, 2021.
With the theme “Resilient and Healthier Benguet – Flourishing in the Midst of Adversity,” Benguet Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas officially declared the opening of the Benguet Adivay 2021 celebration.
In his message, Governor Diclas expressed his gratitude to the frontliners and health workers who served as the province’s shield in the continuous health crisis brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. Also, he admired their selfless sacrifice amidst the threat brought by the pandemic.
As part of the celebration and in partnership with the Department of Health (DOH), La Trinidad LGU, Benguet State University, and other volunteer groups, the Adivay COVID-19 Vaccination Booth was opened in the Public Market in Km. 5, La Trinidad, Benguet. The booth will be operational from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM every day until the end of November to provide COVID-19 vaccination to anybody willing aged 12 and above, regardless of their residence.
In the month-long celebration of the Benguet Adivay, PROCOR assured their commitment and continuous effort to maintain peace and order in the province.
Five drug personalities arrested
Five (5) drug personalities were arrested over Php190,000.00 worth of suspected shabu seized by PROCOR cops in separate buy-bust operations conducted in Baguio City and Abra on November 8-9, 2021.
The suspects were identified as Michael Fulgenio Cerezo, 43; Jay Kiwas Alamar, 27, listed as a Street Level Individual (SLI); Romel Fontanilla Mabalot, 39; Marjorie Lutis Ticuan, 28, listed as SLI; and Marc Therenz Santamaria Antonio, 36.
In AZKCO Barangay, Baguio City, suspect Cerezo was arrested by joint operatives of CDEU and Abanao Police Station after he sold one (1) sachet of suspected shabu weighing more or less 1 gram with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php6,800.00 to an operative who acted as a poseur buyer.
At Melvin Jones, Brgy Legarda, Baguio City, operatives of Abanao Police Station, CDEU and CIU Baguio apprehended suspect Alamar after he sold one (1) sachet of suspected shabu weighing more or less 5 grams with SDP of Php34,000.00 to a poseur buyer.
From his possession, operatives also confiscated another sachet of suspected shabu weighing more or less 0.5 grams with an SDP of Php3,400.00.
Further, at Brgy Bakakeng, Baguio City, joint operatives of PROCOR-RID, CDEU-Baguio, and CIU-Baguio arrested suspects Mabalot and Ticuan after they sold to an operative posing as a buyer four (4) sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 20 grams and SDP amounting to Php136,000.00.
In the course of their arrest, one (1) sachet of suspected shabu weighing more or less one (1) gram with SDP of Php6,800.00 was seized from the possession of suspect Ticuan.
Meanwhile, in Brgy Zone 1, Bangued, Abra, joint operatives of PIU/PDEU, RID, RIU-14, RMFB15, Bangued PPO, and Abra PECU arrested suspect Antonio after he sold one (1) sachet of suspected shabu weighing more or less 0.19 grams with SDP of Php 1,292.00 to an operative who acted as a poseur buyer.
During his arrest, two (2) more sachets of suspected shabu weighing more or less 0.34 grams with SDP of Php 2,312.00 were seized from his possession.**
