Ifugao cops’ outreach program
In Ifugao, police officers of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 (RMFB15) together with those of Banaue Municipal Police Station (MPS), in partnership with the Rotary Club of Baguio South, Downtown Session Road, Baguio Highlands, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Youth Mobile Force Ifugao, and Bayanihan Cordillera, conducted an outreach program at Cambulo Elementary School – Mattao Annex located in the remote area of Sitio Mattao, Brgy Cambulo, Banaue.
According to RMFB15, they traveled for an hour and walked for an additional two (2) hours, despite the heavy rain, to reach the area.
As part of the event, they conducted a feeding activity for the community and distributed stuffed toys, hygiene kits, toiletries, backpacks, blankets, and food packs containing assorted groceries to a total of 39 learners and 50 parents.
Also, five (5) sacks of assorted clothing for adults and children were given to the teachers to be used as gifts for their learners during their upcoming Christmas program.
Moreover, in support of the upcoming conduct of face-to-face classes, a total of 50 chairs and 10 tables donated by Saint Luis University were given to the school, officially received by Ms. Jennifer Benlingan, representative of Cambulo Elementary School–Mattao Annex
Over P1M worth MJ burned
A total of Php 1,140,000.00 worth of marijuana plants were discovered by Benguet cops in the mountainous areas of Kibungan and Bakun, Benguet on December 6 to 7, 2021.
Operatives of 1st Benguet Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) were conducting an operation on the mountains of Kibungan when they discovered one (1) marijuana plantation site in a communal forest in Sitio Lanipew, Tacadang. Also, joint operatives of Bakun Municipal Police Station (MPS), Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), and Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) – Benguet conducted a marijuana eradication operation on the mountains of Bakun that resulted in the discovery of another marijuana plantation site in Sitio Talalang, Kayapa.
The plantation site in Kibungan has an estimated land area of 600 square meters cultivated with a total of 4,200 pieces of fully grown marijuana with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) amounting to Php 840,000.00.
The Bakun plantation site has an estimated land area of 300 square meters where a total of 1,500 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants with SDP of Php 300,000.00 were found..
All the discovered marijuana plants were uprooted and burned on-site by the operatives.
PNP-TESDA community based food processing training
As part of the PNP-TESDA Community Based Training Program, Police Regional Office Cordillera (PROCOR), in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), launched a 10-Day Training on Food Processing at the Beaver Educational Skills and Training Center in Poblacion, Buyagan, La Trinidad, Benguet on December 6, 2021.
The 10-day training will be attended by members of the Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo (KKDAT), out-of-school youths, and drug surrenderers.
The training aims to equip participants with knowledge and skills to start a business.
