1,000+ cops for holidays
As we celebrate the Yuletide Season, Police Regional Office Cordillera will be deploying 1,147 cops to ensure the safety and security of the public during the holiday celebrations and activities from December 16, 2021 to January 6, 2022.
To ensure the security of the major thoroughfares, 445 personnel will be deployed as road safety marshals to include those who will be manning the different terminals in the region.
Meanwhile, for the places of convergence, 702 personnel will be deployed in community firecracker zones, firecracker display areas, markets, parks, malls, and places of worship.
Also, 359 personnel are assigned as Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF) ready for deployment if the need arises.
In addition, PROCOR will mobilize a total of 2,510 Force Multipliers, composed of Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPATs) and volunteers from civic organizations.
Moreover, as the holiday celebrations also entail the use of firecrackers and pyrotechnics, PROCOR cops will also be implementing existing Firecrackers Ban Ordinances in their respective areas of responsibility.
Further, various firecrackers, to include Watusi, Piccolo, Poppop, Five Star, Pla-Pla, Lolo Thunder, Giant Bawang, Giant Whistle Bomb, Atomic Bomb, Atomic Triangle, Large Size Judas Belt, Goodbye Delima, Hello Columbia, Goodbye Napoles, Super Yolanda, Mother Rockets, and Kwiton, are prohibited for use as stipulated in Executive Order No. 28 s. 2017.
In the midst of all the celebrations this holiday, PROCOR encourages the public to always stay alert and vigilant, to ensure their safety, security, and health, especially since the threat of the COVID-19 is still present in the community.
P724K worth of MJ intercepted, 2 drug personalities arrested
A total of Php724,800.00 worth of marijuana were intercepted and two (2) individuals were arrested by PROCOR cops in a police checkpoint conducted in Brgy Dinakan, Lubuagan, Kalinga on December 15, 2021.
Joint operatives of Kalinga PPO and RID-PROCOR conducted a checkpoint operation that resulted in the interception of the dried marijuana plants and the arrest of the suspects identified as Michael John Rentoria Pascual, 21, and Kane Brandley Torres Salang-oy, 21.
Reports revealed that while the operatives were conducting checkpoint along Brgy Dinakan, Lubuagan, they received information regarding a vehicle, described as a Red Toyota Vios with two (2) male individuals who were allegedly transporting dried marijuana leaves and stalks.
On the same day, the operatives were able to apprehend the described vehicle at the checkpoint. Upon inspection, they discovered five (5) ubular packages of dried MJ weighing 3.26 kg with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 391,200.00 and three (3) pieces of dried marijuana bricks weighing 2.78 kg with SDP of Php 333,600.00 loaded inside the vehicle.
This prompted the operatives to arrest the suspects and confiscate all the dried marijuana plants amounting to a total SDP of Php 724,800.00.
The markings and inventory of the pieces of evidence seized were conducted on-site in the presence of the suspects and witnessed by Kagawad Edna D. Taotao of Brgy Dangoy and Ms. Dezerie B. Flores, media representative.
The suspects along with the confiscated pieces of evidence were turned over to the custody of Lubuagan Municipal Police Station (MPS) for documentation and proper disposition before the filing of cases for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 against them.
