Hot pursuit ops in Abra
PROCOR cops are now on the hunt for a suspect involved in a shooting incident at Brgy. Pang-ot, Pilar, Abra early morning of February 28, 2022.
Citing the report submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD O LEE, victims were identified as Charmel Castro, 25, and Mario Ambrosio, 60.
According to Pilar MPS, the victims were playing a card game in a wake when an unidentified suspect appeared and without apparent reason shot victim Ambrosio while victim Castro was hit by a stray bullet.
The victims were immediately brought to Narvacan District Hospital, however, Ambrosio was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
The personnel of Pilar MPS is now conducting a thorough investigation to identify the suspect and to determine the motive of the crime. Meanwhile, hot pursuit operations are ongoing for the possible arrest of the suspect.
P1M worth of MJ; 3 cultivators srrested in Kalinga
Three suspected marijuana cultivators will now be facing charges for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 after they were caught in the act of uprooting and collecting marijuana plants in the mountains of Kalinga on the afternoon of February 27, 2022.
Citing the reports submitted to the Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE identified the arrested suspects as Peter Bagtang, 22 years old; Langao Bagtang, 70 years old; and a 17-year-old minor.
According to the same reports, joint operatives of Kalinga PPO, Regional Intelligence Division of PROCOR, RMFB15, PDEA-CAR, and Philippine Army, while implementing OPLAN Herodotus 2 in Mt. Bitullayungan, Brgy. Butbut Proper, Tinglayan, Kalinga, chanced upon the suspects uprooting and gathering marijuana plants with their firearms hooked up/slinged on their bodies.
The three suspects, upon sensing the presence of the law enforcers, tried to elude arrest but were caught after a short chase.
The operation led to the seizure of more or less 5,000 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants in an estimated land area of 500 square meters with a Standard Drug Price of Php1,000,000.00; one (1) cal.22 with 12 live ammunition; one (1) cal. 9mm with 21 live ammunition and two (2) magazines and one (1) 12 gauge ARMSCOR shotgun with four (4) live ammunition.
Further, the arrested suspects and seized pieces of evidence were brought to the custody of Tinglayan MPS for proper disposition and documentation while the rest of fully grown Marijuana plants were burned on-site by the operatives.

HON. Zenonida Brosas, NAPOLCOM Commissioner, was assisted by PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD O. LEE, and other members of the PROCOR Command Group as they awarded Medalya ng Kasanayan (PNP EFFICIENCY MEDAL) to PCpl Deborah Tendowen, Pat. Raiza Blaize Pangosban and Pat Shaira Cuaresma of the Regional Public Information Office for their outstanding performance as an anchor of PROCOR NEWS BRIEF, CORDILLERA PULIS REPORTS, and TOROGI COPS, respectively.
Also, Medalya ng Kasanayan was given to PEMS Charity Loida Guzman of Abra PPO for her successful implementation of the best practice of Sallapadan MPS “Serbisyong may Puso” which caters to the poorest of the poor community.
Another Medalya ng Kasanayan was given to PCpl Charmaine Kaye Manuel of Benguet PPO for her invaluable services rendered as an investigator of the women and children’s protection desk.
The same award was given to Pat Kristine Joy Guadiz of RMFB 15 for her invaluable service as an adviser to the Federated Youth Mobile Force in the Cordillera. **
