Shooting incident suspect nabbed in Paracelis
The quick response of Paracelis MPS resulted in the arrest of the suspect in a shooting incident that happened in Mountain Province on the evening of March 6, 2022.
Based on the report submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD O LEE, the suspect was identified as Efren Tariago, 80 years old, and a resident of Brgy. Bacarri, Paracelis, Mtn. Province while the victim was identified as Carino Tamang, 56 years old, and a resident of Poblacion of same town.
According to Paracelis MPS, the victim and the suspect were involved in a heated argument on a land dispute when the suspect pulled out his short firearm and shot the victim on his head and body.
The victim was immediately brought to Paracelis District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician. Immediately, Paracelis MPS conducted a hot pursuit operation which led to the arrest of the suspect including the recovery of a cal. 9mm gun with a magazine and three live ammunition.
Also, three (3) fired cartridges for a .9mm and one (1) fired deformed slug were recovered from the crime scene.
The suspect is now under the custody of Paracelis MPS while murder charges, violation of COMELEC gun ban, and RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act are being prepared against him.
MJ intercepted in Benguet
Two individuals will now be facing charges for Violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 after they were arrested for transporting marijuana products on March 5, 2022.
According to the report submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD O LEE, operatives of Bakun MPS and the Regional EOD and Canine Unit – Cordillera (RECU-COR) arrested the two individuals and seized a total of Php 500,000.00 worth of dried marijuana at a police checkpoint in Bakun, Benguet.
The suspects were identified as Merbyn Larawan Gravador, 45, a resident of Calamba, Laguna, and Samuel Flor Christian Singson, 23, a resident of Antipolo City.
A total of five tubular packages of dried marijuana weighing 5,000 grams with a Standard Drug Price of Php 500,000.00 were seized from the suspects.
The inventory of seized pieces of evidence was conducted on-site in the presence of the suspects and witnessed by Hon. Florencio B Vicente, Punong Barangay of Brgy. Ampusongan and media representative, Mr. Joemar P Sacpa.
The arrested suspects and the seized pieces of evidence are now under the custody of Bakun MPS.
4 lady cops awarded for accomplishments
Four lady cops were awarded for their notable accomplishments during the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony in Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet on March 7, 2022.
PCOL JOHN C CHUA, Acting Deputy Regional Director for Administration, led the awarding of the deserving personnel. He was assisted by other members of the PROCOR Command Group.
A Medalya ng Ugnayang Pampulisya (POLICE RELATIONS MEDAL) was awarded to PCOL JESSIEMYR PROTACIO of the Regional Medical and Dental Unit (RMDU) and PCPl Melody Paleng of the Regional Community Affairs and Development Division (RCADD) for the successful conduct of the PNP outreach program and Medical, Dental & Optical mission at Barangay Ambassador, Tublay, Benguet.
Also, another Medalya ng Ugnayang Pampulisya was awarded to Patrolwoman Anghelita Bab-anga and a Medalya ng Kasanayan (PNP EFFICIENCY MEDAL) was awarded to NUP Rosmarie Behis of BCPO Loakan Police Station (PS4) for the successful implementation of the best practice of their station dubbed as “Police Hour” with the theme “Anak mo, Anak ko, Anak nating lahat” which concerns the youth within the sation’s area of responsibility and in the neighboring community.
