Kalinga cops culminate women’s month with operation tuli/medical mission
Kalinga cops have culminated their Women’s Month 2022 celebration with Summer Vacation Operation Tuli and Medical Mission held at Camp Captain Juan M Duyan, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga.
In partnership with the Lakan Kalinga Chapter and other stakeholders, the activity was led by the Acting Provincial Director of Kalinga PPO, PCOL PETER M TAGTAG, JR., through their Provincial Community Affairs & Development Unit (PCADU) and Medical Reserve Force/ Station Health Unit.
Doctor Edward B Tandingan, Provincial Health Officer ll, graced the activity as the guest of honor and speaker.
In his message, Doctor Tandingan congratulated the personnel of Kalinga PPO for undertaking such an activity which is very much timely and necessary.
Services offered during the activity were free medical consultation, giving of vitamins & medicines, and free circumcision.
Also, police officers have provided free haircut services to the participants.
A total of 91 individuals comprising children, young adults, and their parents have participated in the activity.
MP cops commemorate day of valor
Police officers of Mountain Province Police Provincial Office (PPO) commemorate “Araw ng Kagitingan” with the theme “Kagitingan ng mga Beterano, Inspirasyon ng Nagkakaisang Pilipino” in a simple program held at the Veterans Memorial Park, Provincial Plaza, Bontoc, Mountain Province on April 9, 2022.
The activity was attended by the men and women of Mtn. Province PPO, veterans, widows & spouses of the veterans, personnel of the Philippine Army, ROTC Cadets, and Criminology Interns of Mountain Province State Polytechnic College.
The program was highlighted by a wreath-laying ceremony led by Hon. Franklin Odsey, Municipal Mayor of Bontoc; PCOL RUBEN B ANDISO, the Provincial Director of Mt Province PPO; Veteran Laurence Pangod; Veteran Pio Kidpo; and Veteran Paulo Pagteilan.
A 21-gun salute and sounding of TAPS were also observed to honor the valor and the sacrifices of Filipino war veterans and patriots.
Meanwhile, in Paracelis, police officers of Paracelis MPS visited the lone known survivor of World War 2 in the municipality, Sir Andres B. Wanason, a 103-year old veteran.
Also, they offered candles and prayers to the tomb of Sir Placido Cabacsan.
In Natonin, police officers of Natonin MPS visited and gave assorted groceries to a World War II veteran Mr. Wangchan Gatao Tawaran, 97 years old, of Brgy. Butac.
The Day of Valor, officially known as Araw ng Kagitingan, is a national observance in the Philippines which commemorates the fall of Bataan to Japanese troops during World War II.
By virtue of Executive Order No. 203, s. 1987, April 9 of every year is Araw ng Kagitingan. Proclamation No. 466, s. 1989 on the other hand, designated April 5 to 11 of every year as Philippine Veterans Week in order to “promote, preserve and memorialize the principles, ideals, and deeds of the Filipino war veteran as a means to enhance patriotism and love of country, especially among the youth of the land.”
