119 police recruits join PNP units
A total of 119 aspiring male police officers were formally turned over to their respective mother units through a simple ceremony held at the Masigasig Grandstand, Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad Benguet on April 25, 2022.
The said successful applicants underwent and passed the month-long recruitment process in Camp Major Bado Dangwa under the supervision of the Regional Recruitment and Selection Unit-Cordillera (RRSU-Cor).
To help the applicants cut down their expenses instead of traveling to Manila for their recruitment processing, RRSU- Cor lent its assistance to the National Support Unit for their application processing.
The series of selection and screening processes make the police aspirants eligible to join the PNP organization and to undergo the Public Safety Basic Recruit Course, mandatory schooling designed to equip the PNP recruits with the knowledge, skills, proper attitudes, and discipline required in the performance of their duties and responsibilities as public safety officers.
According to PCOL CHARLES L DOMALLIG, the Chief of RRSU-Cor, of the 119 Patrolman Applicants for the National Support Units, 31 applicants were recruited for PNP Health Service, 31 for the PNP Drug Enforcement Group, 19 for Communications and Electronics Service, 10 for the Anti-Cyber Crime Group, seven for the PNP Training Institute, seven for the Police Security and Protection Group, six for the Philippine National Police Training Service, five for the Maritime Group, three for the Forensic Group, and one for the Explosives Ordnance Disposal Unit.

As PROCOR continues its campaign against illegal drugs, 11 drug personalities were arrested while a total of Php 10,013,920.00 of marijuana plants were eradicated by PROCOR cops in the conduct of week-long operations from April 17-23,2022.
Based on the records of PROCOR’s Regional Operations Division (ROD), Abra PPO, Benguet PPO, and Kalinga PPO recorded the highest number of arrests with three arrested drug personalities each followed by Baguio CPO and Mountain Province PPO with one arrest each.
In Abra, arrested personalities were identified as Jhan Jhan Bueno, 23; Justine Flores, 28; and Severino Tubaña, 42.
While in Benguet, the arrested personalities were identified as Sally Palaganas, 39; Brendalee Bugtong, 39; and Arnold Novida, 43.
In Kalinga, arrested personalities were identified as Ariston Delgado, 44; Janet Guerre, 48; and Jay Boy Amangan, 22.
In Baguio City and Mountain Province, arrested personalities were identified as John Michael Bustarde, 27, and Rosendo Tadeo, 24 respectively.
The separate buy-bust operations conducted resulted in the seizure of a total of 20.31 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of Php 138,108.00 and the confiscation of a total of 23.1 kilograms of dried marijuana leaves and stalks with an SDP of Php 2,772,228.00.
All arrested suspects will be facing charges for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, the continuous marijuana eradication conducted in Benguet destroyed a total of 11,560 fully grown marijuana plants (FGMJP) with a SDP of Php 2,312,000.00 and 48 pieces of marijuana seedlings with a SDP of Php 1,920.00.
While in Kalinga, a total of 38,500 pieces of FGMJP with a SDP of Php 7,700,000.00 were destroyed by the operatives.
