Attempted homicide
A case of attempted homicide transpired at around 5:00 AM of November 4, 2018 at G1 Tower Condominium, Gibraltar, Baguio City as complained by Justine Robin Brett Jovero, female, 29, student and a resident of the above stated place against William Benavidez Magtibay, 64, artist and a resident Parisas, Camp 7, Baguio City.
Investigation disclosed that the two were having a drinking spree when without any apparent reason the suspect wrapped the face and neck of the victim with a blanket. The victim tried to defend herself but to no avail until she was unconscious. The suspect left the victim after the incident. The victim sought police assistance after regaining consciousness.
Personnel of PS3, BCPO responded and together with the complainant they proceeded to the residence of the suspect and arrested him.
Drunkenness and violation of COB 6887
A case of drunkenness and violation of COB 6887 (Illegal Possession of Deadly Weapon) transpired on or about 8:30 a.m. of November 4, 2018 as complained by PSINSP Blaisandrew B. Dao-anis and PO2 Ryan G. Degyem, both of legal age and assigned at Police Station 4, Baguio City Police Office against the arrested suspect named Prince Danielle Oriol Irada, 19, single, ALS student, and a resident of No. 18-B Rimando Rd., Aurora Hill, Baguio City.
Investigation disclosed that the suspect who was under the influence of liquor created trouble at Magsaysay Drive, Loakan Proper, Baguio City. He was pacified by a concerned neighbor but he instead became unruly and was challenging everyone to a fight. This prompted a concerned neighbor to call for police assistance. Responding police officers saw the suspect holding a knife in his right hand and was shouting. The suspect was arrested and brought to PS4, BCPO. Pertinent documents are being prepared for inquest proceedings.
Accident resulting in homicide, physical injuries and damage to property
At about 10:00 a.m. of November 4, 2018, personnel of Tabuk CPS responded to a reported vehicular traffic accident resulting in homicide, physical injuries and damage to property that transpired at the national road of Barangay Gob-Gob, Tabuk City fronting the Goyagoy residence. Upon arrival at the place, the personnel saw a male victim together with his driven single motorcycle beneath the front of a PUV Sarao Jeepney. The fatality was later identified as Romar Dao-Ayan Cammagay, 36, married and a resident of Magsaysay, Tabuk City.
Initial investigation disclosed that the PUV Sarao galvanized jeepney with plate number BVT 497 driven by Arnel Tenod Banawa, 31, married, no driver’s license and a resident of Dugpa, Pinukpuk, Kalinga was heading south loaded with passengers while the XRM 125, color black, no license plate number attached driven by Romar Dao-ayan Cammagay, no driver’s license with back rider Christian Miguel Calagui, 18, single and a resident of Wagod, Pinukpuk, Kalinga was heading north tailing a single motorcycle and a tricycle (kulong-kulong). Allegedly, the XRM MC encroached on the other lane and had a head on collision with the Jeepney. As a result, Cammagay suffered severe body and head injuries while his back rider sustained fractures on his right leg and face. The dirver of the XRM MC was declared DOA by Dr, Clifford Gacuya at KPH while the back rider was confined at same hospital. Investigation is still ongoing.
Arrested for drug charges
and illegal firearms
Cops arrested four individuals for violation of the anti-illegal drugs and anti-illegal firearms laws last week.
In a buy-bust operation, two drug traders were separately arrested after they sold sachets of illegal drugs to police agents who posed as buyers on November 5, 2018.
Joint operatives of the Regional Intelligence Division (RID) and Regional Intelligence Unit 14 (RIU-14), La Trinidad Drug Enforcement Unit and PDEA-CAR arrested Jefferson Curameng Requizo, 22, native of Solano, Nueva Vizcaya and a resident of Balili, La Tridinidad, Benguet, at Trading Post, Pico, La Trinidad Monday evening. Confiscated from the suspect are three heat sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, buy bust money, and one cellular phone.
Joint operatives of Itogon and Benguet police also arrested Rolly Aspuria Selga, 28, miner in his resident in Philex mines Eastern B, Ampucao, Itogon, Benguet on the night of the same day. Confiscated are two heat sealed sachets containing suspected shabu and one-unit mobile phone.
In another development, two suspects were caught for illegal possession of firearms.
Suspect Larry Mangorangca Lumano, 43, a resident of Central Fairview, Baguio City was arrested at Sitio Palali, Poblacion, Sablan, Benguet on the afternoon of November 1, 2018. Before his arrest, a concerned citizen saw the suspect with a firearm tucked in his waist partly covered by his jacket that prompted them to report to the police. As a result, Sablan police seized the unlicensed caliber 9mm PARA pistol, one (1) magazine and three (3) live ammunition from his possession.
Another suspect identified as Andres Vallejo Paloga, 46, security guard, and a resident of Adiwang Road, Green Valley, Baguio City was arrested inside the Highland Bar, Block 4, Hilltop, Baguio City on the afternoon of November 2, 2018. Police Station 7, BCPO operatives recovered from his possession one cal. 22 (paltik) with four (4) live ammunition.
