3 wanted persons arrested
The continuous anti-criminality efforts of Police Regional Office Cordillera resulted in the arrest of two drug personalities and three wanted persons on May 25, 2022.
According to the reports submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, the two arrested drug personalities were identified as Marlon Baldos Ramos, 41; and Karmela Peñaranda Javier, 25.
Suspect Marlon was arrested by operatives of the Abra Police Provincial Office after he sold one plastic sachet of suspected shabu weighing more or less 0.13 grams with a standard drug price of Php 884.00.
In a separate anti-illegal operation, Karmela was arrested by joint operatives of BCPO Irisan Police Station (PS9) and Regional PNP Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) after she sold one plastic sachet of suspected shabu weighing more or less .5 grams with an SDP of Php 3,400.00.
Markings and inventories of the pieces of evidence were done on-site in the presence of the arrested suspects and witnessed by representatives of the Department of Justice (DOJ), media, and elected barangay officials.
The arrested suspects and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the custody of the respective operating units for documentation and proper disposition while charges for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were filed against the arrested suspects.
Meanwhile, as the result of continuous manhunt operations of PROCOR, Roy Lucas Fernandez, 29,,was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest for violation of the Comelec Gun Ban while Christin Tinaza Gengania, 51, was arrested for the crime of estafa; and Michael Pinas Del Rosario, 28 was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued for the crime of falsification of public document.
Salute to the UN peacekeepers
23 police officers of PROCOR were recognized last May 30, 2022 as part of the celebration of the International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers at the Masigasig Grandstand at Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Coinciding with the Monday flag raising ceremony, a Certificate of Recognition was given by the Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD O LEE, to the 23 police officers who were former members of the PNP United Nations Peacekeeping Team for their invaluable services
Leading the list of the awardees is the PROCOR’s Deputy Regional Director for Administration, PBGEN JOHN C CHUA, who served as UN peacekeeper in Kosovo, Liberia, and East Timor.

The International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers is celebrated every 29th of May to pay tribute to the uniformed and civilian personnel’s invaluable contribution to the work of the organization and to honor the peacekeepers who have lost their lives serving under the UN flag since 1948.
