Shooting incident
At around 6:30 AM of Nov. 12, 2018 personnel of Tabuk CPS and the SWAT responded to a shooting incident that transpired at around 10:00 PM of November 11, 2018 at Sitio Taniok New Tanglag, Tabuk, City Kalinga. The victim was identified as Jericho Arellano Manzano, 19 years old, OSY, single and a resident of same place. However, the victim, who sustained a lone gunshot wound at his right shoulder blade was already brought to the Almora General Hospital for medical attention by his relatives
Investigation disclosed that the victim together with three companions identified as Chris Alcaide Aduca, Clifford Jimenez and Angelo Baggayan Cabawatan, all of legal age and residents of Taniok New Tanglag, Tabuk City, Kalinga were having a drinking spree at the waiting shed there when they decided to go home. Chris Aduca wanted to test fire a gun that prompted Clifford Jimenez to get his hand gun from his residence nearby and gave it to Chris Aduca and he fired once but misfired. The victim and Angelo Cabawatan ran away but while leaving, he heard a gunshot emanating from his companions but he ignored this and went home to sleep. Further at around 5 AM of November 12, 2018, when the victim woke up he complained that his right shoulder was aching and saw that his shirt was full of dried blood prompting him to call his cousin Ronron Arellano who discovered that the victim had a gunshot wound. The barangay officials of said place turned over the alleged firearm used by the suspects described as homemade caliber .38 to the responding policemen. Victim is undergoing medical treatment at Almora General Hospital while the arrested suspects, Chris Aduca and Clifford Jimenez were brought to Tabuk CPS for further investigation.
Vioalion of PD 1865
On November 13, 2018 at about 4:30 PM, personnel of Villaviciosa MPS, CIDG PFU-Abra conducted simultaneous buy-bust/entrapment operations on reported unscrupulous businessmen selling adulterated petroleum products at Brgy. Poblacion and Laplapog, Villaviciosa, Abra that resulted in the arrest of Fedirico Agaid Panabang, 44, and Helen Ginez Bello, 53. Other suspect/s evaded arrest during the operation. Arrested suspects are now in the custody of CIDG PFU-Abra for documentation prior to inquest proceedings. Confiscated items follow:
a. From Helen Ginez Bello;
1. More or less 446 liters of diesel;
2. More or less 335 liters of regular gasoline; and
3. More or less 2,010 liters of premium gasoline.
b. From Marino Laranang (at large)
1. More or less 720 liters of diesel;
2. More or less 864 liters of premium; and
3. More or less 180 liters of regular.
c. From Fedirico Again Panabang
1. More or less 39 liters of diesel;
2. More or less 126 liters of premium; and
3. More or less 18 liters of regular.
Alleged theft
On or about 9:20 PM of November 9, 2018, a case of theft transpired inside the Pacific mart located along Session Road, Baguio City. The complaint of the management was thru its representative, Derrick Banol Ballatong, 29, single, CCTV observer, and resident of No. 19, Laurel St., Baguio City. The suspects were identified as Cedric Boncodin Fernandez aka “CED”, 20, single, unemployed, and a resident of Block 2, Quirino Hilll, Baguio City and Charles Michael Quinto Laruan, 19, single, Grade 12 student, and a resident of FAO 28, Cabanao, Balili, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Investigation disclosed that the complainant saw the suspects thru CCTV when they entered the said establishment and they went directly to the wine/spirits section. Mr. Cedric Fernandez took a bottle of gin from the display rack and inserted it inside the front side of his underwear while Charles Michael Laruan acted as cover and a look out. The suspects went to the chips section, took some chips and paid these at the counter. Cedric Fernandez who was concealing the stolen item was about to go out of the establishment ahead that prompted the observer to go out from the control room and intercept the suspect at the entrance. The complainant frisked Cedric Fernandez and recovered the bottle of 2×2 Ginebra San Miguel gin worth Php43.00 from him. Responding personnel of Police Station 7 arrested the suspects. Documents case was for filing.
Violation of RA 9995 (Anti-Photo and
Video Voyeurism Act of 2009)
At around 5:40 AM of November 15, 2018, personnel of PS7, BCPO arrested Marlo Casiwsiw Delaraga, 22 years old, single, student at the University of Baguio and presently boarding at No. 28C Private Road, New Lucban, Baguio City for violation of the Anti-photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009. The victim was identified as Clydine Jethna Orduña Sigue, 21 years old, single, student at SLU and presently boarding at same place.
Investigation revealed that the victim was inside the bathroom taking a bath and totally naked but when she looked up, she saw a cellphone apparently being used to take photos of her. She immediately covered herself with a bath towel and went outside then tried to enter the adjacent comfort room but it was locked. She knocked at the door and saw the suspect inside holding a cellphone. With the suspect’s consent, the victim checked the phone and saw her naked photos. The victim hysterically shouted that invited the attention of Ira Janine Clemente Mateo. Ms. Mateo verified the cellphone and saw the naked photos of the victim. The witness narrated the incident to the landlord that prompted him to call for police assistance.
The case was brought to the attention of Duty Inquest Prosecutor Philip Randolf Kiat-ong, who ordered the detention of the arrested suspect at the Baguio City Jail Male Dorm.**
