PhP7.7M worth of MJ intercepted in MP
Two individuals will now be facing charges for Violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 after they were arrested for transporting marijuana bricks amounting to Php 7,713,960.00 in Mountain Province morning of September 13, 2022.
Based on the report submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN MAFELINO A BAZAR, the suspects were identified as Eliseo IV San Pedro Quiambao, 23; and John Cedric Gadia, 21, both residents of Quezon City.
According to Mountain Province PPO, the joint operatives of the Sadanga MPS and 2nd Mt. Province PMFC intercepted a private vehicle loaded with 3 sacks of marijuana bricks at a police checkpoint in Sitio Ampawilen, Brgy. Poblacion, Sadanga.
The operation has resulted in the apprehension of the suspects and the confiscation of 67 Marijuana bricks weighing more or less 64.283 kilos with a standard drug price of Php 7,713,960.00.
Inventory of the pieces of evidence recovered was conducted on-site in the presence of the arrested suspects and witnessed by Ms. Lanie Faith F. Lagob, Media Representative, and Barangay Captain Eliang Anongos of Poblacion, Sadanga.
Further, the arrested suspects and seized contraband were brought to the Regional PDEA Laboratory Office for the conduct of drug testing.
Kalinga cops arrest suspects in shooting incident
The quick response of the police officers of Tabuk City Police Station (CPS) resulted in the arrest of the suspects in the shooting incident that happened in Brgy. Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga on September 8, 2022.
Based on the report submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN MAFELINO A BAZAR, the gunman was identified as Hansky Sagmayao, 21 years old and his companions were identified as Marvin Guevara, 21; Bryan Baggas, 23; and Edward Palat, 33, all natives of Kalinga.
According to Tabuk CPS, the suspects and victims were at a resto-bar located in Brgy. San Juan, Tabuk City when the gunman without any apparent reason pulled his firearm and shot victim Jogie Cabicungan, 37 on his back and chest while victim Orland Pascual sustained gunshot wounds on his abdomen and elbow. The gunman and his three cohorts escaped and ran towards Brgy. Bulanao Centro, Tabuk City.
The said victims were rushed to Kalinga Provincial Hospital for immediate medical attention, however, Cabicungan was declared dead on arrival (DOA) while Pascual is admitted and still unconscious.
Immediately, after a quick view of the CCTV installed at the said resto bar wherein the gunman with his cohorts were clearly captured, the responding personnel of Tabuk CPS launched a hot pursuit operation which successfully resulted in the arrest of the gunman and his companions.
Further, all arrested suspects were temporarily detained at Tabuk CPS for further investigation while appropriate charges will be filed against them.
