P17.2M MJ intercepted in Kalinga
A driver and a college student will now be facing charges for Violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 after they were nabbed at a police checkpoint conducted by Kalinga cops on September 24, 2022.
Based on the report submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN MAFELINO A BAZAR, the arrested suspects were identified as Richard Ilagan Dela Cruz, 24 years old, a college student; and Dario Orpanel Gadingan, 44 years old, driver; both residents of Caloocan City.
According to Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO), personnel of the 2nd Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) and Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) received information that a private vehicle will be transporting marijuana products from Tinglayan, Kalinga going to Metro Manila via Tabuk City.
Acting on the said information, the police operatives established a joint checkpoint at Sitio Dinakan, Dangoy, Lubuagan, Kalinga.
The operation resulted in the arrest of the suspects and the confiscation of one hundred thirty-eight (138) bricks of dried marijuana leaves and stalks weighing more or less 138,000 grams with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 16,560,000.00 and six (6) tubular form of dried marijuana leaves and stalks weighing more or less 6,000 grams with an SDP of Php 720,000.00.
Inventory of the pieces of evidence recovered was conducted on-site in the presence of the arrested suspects and witnessed by Ms. Bernadette Malayo, DOJ representative; Janette Alagao, media representative, and Kagawad Edna D Taotao of Barangay Dangoy.
The arrested suspects and seized contraband were brought to Lubuagan MPS for proper documentation and disposition.
18 drug personalities busted, P1M MJ plants eradicated
As the result of the continuous anti-illegal drug operations being conducted in the Cordillera Region, 18 drug personalities were arrested while Php 1,478,880.00 worth of marijuana plants were destroyed in the weeklong anti-illegal drugs operation conducted by PROCOR Cops from September 18 to 24, 2022.
Citing the records from the PROCOR’s Regional Operations Division (ROD), for the week, Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) arrested ten (10) drug personalities, Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO) with four (4) arrested drug personalities, Benguet PPO and Abra PPO with two (2) arrested drug personalities each.
In Baguio City, the arrested personalities were identified as Teofilo Carino, 51; Jimmy Geronimo, 42; Michael Galano and Richard Narbonita, both 37; Ivan Carlo Estavillo, 36; Jan Derik Damoco,27; Sheena Domingo, 26; Holy Elyjam Yango, 22; Jonathan Delfin, 20; and a 17-year-old male minor.
In Kalinga, the arrested personalities were identified as Dario Gadingan, 44; Richard Dela Cruz, 24; and two 16-year-old male minors.
While in Abra and Benguet the arrested drug personalities were identified as Taranes Pelitan, 73; Fidel Tabano, 66; Philip Billedo, 38; and Krystle Villafranca, 36.
The arrests resulted in the seizure of a total of 18.22 grams of suspected shabu with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 123,896.00 and the confiscation of a total of 144,005.85 grams of dried marijuana leaves with an SDP of Php 17,280,702.00.
All arrested suspects are now facing charges for violating R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, the continuous marijuana eradication operations being conducted by PROCOR Cops resulted in the destruction of a total of 7,370 of Fully-Grown Marijuana Plants (FGMP) and 122 pieces of marijuana seedlings with a total SDP of Php 1,478,880.00 in Benguet and Kalinga.
“SALAMAT KAPATID” accorded three retiring PROCOR cops
In appreciation for their commitment and long years of police service, the Police Regional Office Cordillera honored three retiring personnel through the PNP retirement ceremony known as “Salamat Kapatid Program” held at the PROCOR Multi-Purpose Gym, Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet on September 23, 2022.
The program is in honor of PLTCOL WILLIAM B WILLIE, PLT EDDIE R GASMEN, and PEMS Marissa L Bay-an.
In recognition of their faithful and honorable service to the organization and the people, PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN MAFELINO A BAZAR presented Medalya ng Paglilingkod (PNP SERVICE MEDAL) and Plaques of Appreciation to the three retiring cops.
Certificates of recognition were also given to the families of the retirees as a grateful appreciation of the PNP for their love, sacrifice, support, and understanding to the retiring police officers.
During the program, PBGEN BAZAR extended his appreciation and respect to the three retirees for their long years of service and boundless commitment to the attainment of the mission and vision of PNP.
Representing the retirees, PLTCOL WILLIAM B WILLIE delivered his valedictory message with gratitude to the PNP and PROCOR for honing them to become honorable members of the organization keeping with them the mandate to serve and protect the Filipino people.
“I am proud to say that I will retire from the police service with pride and dignity, however as my last day in service is approaching, I have mixed feelings of sadness and excitement, sad because its hard to say goodbye to the PNP organization that nurtured my life, excited because its a perfect reflection and relaxation as well as spending more quality time with my loved ones,” PLTCOL WILLIE said.
