2 wanted persons nabbed
As the result of the intensified anti-criminality campaign conducted by PROCOR cops, 32 individuals wanted by the law were nabbed in a weeklong manhunt operation conducted from November 27 to December 3, 2022.
Based on the records of the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division (RIDMD), for the week, Baguio CPO has recorded the highest number of arrests with sixteen (followed by Benguet PPO with nine (9); Mountain Province PPO with three (3); Kalinga PPO with two (2) and Abra & Ifugao PPO with one (1) each.
As highlights of the weeklong manhunt operations, four individuals listed as Most Wanted Persons were arrested: one (1) at the Provincial Level and three (3) at the City Level.
Meanwhile, as the result of the intensified police presence and campaign against criminality, during the same period, 57 municipalities in the Cordillera Region and one police station of the Baguio City Police Office recorded zero crime incidents.
In Abra, 23 out of 27 municipalities recorded zero crime incidents while in Ifugao, 9 out of 11 municipalities recorded zero crime incidents.
In Benguet, 7 of its municipalities recorded zero crime incidents while in Kalinga, 6 municipalities recorded zero crime incidents and 2 municipalities in Apayao recorded zero crime incidents.
Further, Kennon Road Police Station (PS8) recorded zero crime incidents out of 10 police stations in Baguio City.
11 drug personalities busted
Eleven (11) drug personalities were arrested in PROCOR’s weeklong anti-illegal drugs operation conducted from November 27 to December 3, 2022.
Citing the records of the PROCOR’s Regional Operations Division (ROD), for the week, Baguio City Police Office (CPO) has arrested five (5) drug personalities while Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO) has arrested four (4) drug personalities and Benguet PPO and Ifugao PPO have arrested one (1) drug personality each.
In Baguio City, the arrested drug personalities were identified as Tommy Ladiocan, 50; Mark Edrick Rafer, 35; Audrey Josh Monsalud, 25; Michael George Ventenilla, 27; and Ephraim Yango, 36.
In Kalinga, the arrested drug personalities were identified as Albert Dugwawi, 29; Christian Gragasin, 29; Richard Arugay, 33; and Eugene Mandilag, 28.
Further, Jerbin Velasco, 37, was arrested in Benguet while Jhim Bala-oy, 20, was arrested in Ifugao.
The weeklong anti-illegal drugs operation conducted has resulted in the seizure of a total of 2.37 grams of shabu and 48.001 grams of Marijuana leaves and fruiting tops with an overall Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 5,776, 236.00.
All arrested suspects are now facing charges for violating R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Also, in a separate anti-illegal drug operation, seven (12) marijuana plantation sites were discovered in the municipalities of Bakun and Kibungan in Benguet.
The operatives of Kibungan Municipal Police Station, Bakun MPS, and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) were able to discover 200 pieces of Fully-Grown Marijuana Plants (FGMJP) and 1,650 marijuana seedlings with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 2,066,000.00.
All discovered marijuana plants were uprooted and burned on-site by the operatives while investigations are ongoing to identify possible cultivators of the said marijuana plantation sites.
