GRADE 12 STUDENT AND HER MINOR COHORT, BUSTED FOR PEDDLING ILLEGAL DRUGS
A Grade 12 student and her minor cohort will now be facing charges for Violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 after they were arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted in Tabuk City, Kalinga on December 11, 2022.
Based on the reports submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN MAFELINO A BAZAR, the arrested suspects were identified as Maila Daligdig Tayaan, 21 years old, and a 15-year-old minor, both residents of Rizal, Kalinga.
Suspect Tayaan and her minor cohort were arrested by the joint operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Unit of Kalinga PPO, Tabuk City Police Station (CPS), Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, and 1st Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company after they sold a sachet of suspected “shabu” weighing more or less 15 grams with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 102,000.00.
The inventory of the pieces of evidence recovered was conducted on-site in the presence of the arrested suspects and witnessed by Brgy. Kagawad Edwin Hidalgo; Brgy Kagawad Vilma Bolingon; Ms. Janette B. Alagao, media representative; and Ms. Lailanie S. Balao-ing, DOJ representative.
The suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought into the custody of Tabuk CPS for documentation and proper disposition.
RESOLVING CONFLICT THROUGH
PEACE DIALOGUE
In Mountain Province, PCOL SIBLY P DAWIGUEY JR, the Provincial Director of Mt. Province PPO, served as mediator between the conflicting ethnic groups of Dalican and Fidelisan during their peace talk held at Mountain Province Police Provincial Office Kiosk in Brgy. Poblacion, Bontoc on December 07, 2022.
Present also as co-mediators were Hon. Johnson D Bantog II & Hon. Ezra A Gomez, both members of Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Mt. Province, and Lieutenant Colonel MARCELO F VALDEZ, Commander of the Philippine Army’s 69th Infantry Battalion.
The talk was attended by the elders and barangay officials of Brgy. Dalican headed by Hon. Reynald Waking while the elders and barangay officials of Brgy. Fidelisan was headed by Hon. Peter Patong.
As the results of their peace dialogue, the conflicting group has decided to resurvey the disputed boundary and the endorsement of a resolution on the “amendment of the portion of the map of Political Boundary of Sagada Cadastre, CAD-502-D particularly affecting the boundary claim of Fidelisan ethnic group-Northern Barangays of Sagada Municipality and that of Barangay Dalican of Bontoc Municipality to the Secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.”
PCOL DAWIGUEY JR appealed to both parties concerned not to do any hostile act that may jeopardize the integrity of their mutual commitment towards a peaceful settlement.
Also, to show their support, the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan encourage both ethnic groups not to hesitate to ask for help from them regarding their long-time dispute.
Present also during the dialogue were the Punong Barangays of all barangays of Sagada, Mt Province PPO key personnel.**
