TWO MINORS ARRESTED FOR TRANSPORTING ILLEGAL DRUGS IN KALINGA
Two 17-year-old students will now be facing charges for Violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 after they were arrested for transporting marijuana leaves in Lubuagan, Kalinga on January 15, 2023.
Based on the report submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN MAFELINO A BAZAR, both the arrested suspects were 17-year-old students, residents of Tabuk City, Kalinga, and newly identified drug personalities.
According to the same report, the two minors were initially arrested by the operatives of the Kalinga PPO for disobeying the police officers and evading the established checkpoint in Brgy. Dangoy, Lubuagan, Kalinga.
In the course of their arrest, a semi-tubular form of dried marijuana leaves and stalks weighing more or less than 570 grams with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php68,400.00 were also confiscated from them.
The inventory of the pieces of evidence recovered was conducted on site in the presence of the arrested suspects and witnessed by Hon. Councilor Simi Colayot, Lubuagan; and Ms. Jannete Alagaoo, media representative.
The arrested suspects and confiscated evidence were brought to the custody of the Kalinga PPO Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit for documentation and proper disposition.
APAYAO AND 14 TOWNS AWARDED AS MOST PEACEFUL IN THE REGION
The province of Apayao and 14 municipalities were adjudged as the most peaceful places in the Cordillera during the PROCOR Command Conference presided by PBGEN MAFELINO A BAZAR.
Based on the parameters set by the Police Regional Office Cordillera, the province of Apayao was adjudged as the “Most Peaceful Province” with only 32 focused crime incidents recorded for Calendar Year 2022.
The Certificate of Recognition was received by PCOL JEFFERSON CARIAGA, the Provincial Director of the Apayao Police Provincial Office (PPO).
Also, the municipalities of Tubo, Bucloc, and Daguioman in the province of Abra were recognized for recording one (1) crime incident each for the past five (5) years (2018-2022).
Special Recognition were also given to Boliney, Bucloc, Daguioman, Luba, San Quintin, Tubo, & Tineg in the province of Abra; Barlig, Besao, & Natonin in Mtn. Province; and Kabayan in the province of Benguet for registering zero focus crime incidents for C.Y. 2022.
