THREE DELIVERY RIDERS CAUGHT WHILE IN DRUG SESSION AT LA TRINIDAD
Immediate response to a civilian tip-off led to the arrest of three (3) drug personalities while taking part in a drug session on the evening of January 29, 2023, at Sitio Bayabas, Brgy. Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Citing the report submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN MAFELINO A BAZAR, the arrested suspects were identified as Geremay Quinzon Estalilla, 27; Lhurdson Mira Ranin, 35; and Macario Serma Orden Jr., 44, all residents of La Trinidad and listed as Street Level Individuals (SLI).
The same report disclosed that joint operatives of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) and La Trinidad MPS of Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) were immediately dispatched after a concerned citizen tipped off police operatives about the ongoing drug session at the said place.
Upon arrival, operatives seized two (2) sachets of suspected shabu weighing 0.17 grams with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 1,156.00 and other drug paraphernalia.
The inventory of evidence was conducted in the presence of the arrested suspects and duly witnessed by Prosecutor Arthur Bataclao, DOJ representative, and Brgy. Kagawad Walter Angway Sr. of Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet.
The arrested suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the custody of La Trinidad MPS for documentation and proper disposition while charges for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared against suspects.
FIVE PROCOR COPS AWARDED FOR SUCCESSFUL DRUG OPS
The Police Regional Office Cordillera (PROCOR) awarded five personnel in recognition of their exemplary performance in the campaign against illegal drugs during the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony held at the Masigasig Grandstand in Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet on January 30, 2023.
PROCOR’s Deputy Regional Director for Administration (DRDA), PBGEN PATRICK JOSEPH G ALLAN, presented the awards to deserving police officers and he was assisted by PCOL JULIO S LIZARDO, Chief Regional Staff, and other Regional Staff.
Medalya ng Kagalingan (PNP Medal of Merit) was awarded to PCPT RUBEN BALANOY, PSSg Novis Denne Bulao, and PSSg Ryan Floyd Dagadag, all from Tabuk City Police Station (CPS), Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO), for their successful conduct of a checkpoint operation that resulted in the arrest of two (2) drug personalities and confiscation of marijuana in Kalinga.
Further, the same award was given to PCPT LYSTER ABAG and PCpl Efren Agayo, both from Benguet PPO, for conducting a buy-bust operation that resulted in the arrest of a drug personality and confiscation of “shabu” in La Trinidad, Benguet.
Medalya ng Kagalingan is awarded to members of the PNP for a single act of heroism or series of heroic acts.
CTG ARMS CACHE DISCOVERED IN
MTN. PROVINCE
Acting immediately on an intelligence report, joint forces of the Police Regional Office Cordillera (PROCOR) and troops of the Philippine Army conducted an operation that resulted in the discovery of an arms cache of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) in Bontoc, Mtn. Province on January 30, 2023.
Citing reports submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN MAFELINO A BAZAR, police operatives of Mtn. Province Police Provincial Office (PPO) and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 (RMFB15) together with troops of the Philippine Army launched the said operation that resulted in the discovery of an arms cache hidden in the mountainous area of Brgy. Mainit.
Seized were: one (1) piece improvised explosive device; one (1) piece upper M16 receiver (barrel); two (2) maps; fifty-one (51) pieces of cartridge (5.56 ball); one (1) M16 selector; one (1) M16 bolt; one (1) M16 forward assist; two (2) bolts cam pin; one (1) M16 plastic short magazine; and one (1) M16 hand guard.
Also, operatives seized assorted clothes, medical supplies, and personal belongings believed to be owned by members of the CTGs.
The recovered items were brought to the custody of the 1502nd Maneuver Company of RMFB15 in Tadian, Mtn. Province for documentation and proper disposition.
Meanwhile, operating troops continue to search adjacent areas of the arms cache for the possible recovery of other explosive devices.**
