ANOTHER PICK-POCKET SUSPECT ARRESTED IN LA TRINIDAD
Another suspect for pick-pocketing was arrested by a police officer in La Trinidad, Benguet on February 9, 2023.
Based on the report submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN MAFELINO A BAZAR, the suspect was identified as Maribel Kinlihan Madiwo, 24 years old and a resident of Brgy. Upper Trum Ucab, Itogon, Benguet.
According to La Trinidad Municipal Police Station (MPS), the victim together with her husband was placing the groceries they purchased inside their vehicle when the suspect stealthily took her cell phone from her jacket.
The husband of the victim who noticed the suspect immediately held the suspect while they sought assistance from the police officer in the area.
PSMS Jeffrey L. Tampulay, who was patrolling near the area immediately responded and arrested the suspect.
Suspect Madiwo was brought to La Trinidad MPS for documentation and proper disposition and a case for violation of Article 308 of the Revised Penal Code was filed against the suspect.
THREE INDIVIDUALS ARRESTED FOR ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF FIREARM
PROCOR cops arrested three (3) individuals in possession of unlicensed firearms in a separate operation conducted in the province of Kalinga and Baguio City on February 13, 2023.
Citing the reports submitted to the Regional Director, PBGEN MAFELINO A BAZAR, the arrested suspects were identified as Mac Aldrich Wansi, 19; Gerald Washington, 23; and Raymundo Bang-ot, 42.
Wansi and Washington were arrested after a hot pursuit operation conducted by the Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) operatives of Tabuk City Police Station (CPS).
According to Tabuk CPS, the victims who are both minors were on their way home when suddenly the suspects on board a motorcycle followed them and pointed a gun. To avoid the suspects, the victims went straight to Police Community Precinct in Purok 5, Bulanao, where they reported the incident.
Immediately, operatives conducted a hot pursuit operation and found the suspects at a gas station in Brgy. San Juan, Tabuk City.
They were arrested after they failed to provide pertinent documents of one (1) Cal. 38 (BERSA) loaded with twelve (12) rounds of ammunition.
Meanwhile, in Baguio City, suspect Bang-ot was arrested by operatives of Marcos Highway Police Station 10 of Baguio City Police Office ( BCPO) when he failed to provide documents of a caliber 22 revolver loaded with seven (7) live ammunition found inside his car.
The arrested suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the custody of their respective operating units for proper documentation and disposition while charges for violation of RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act were filed against them.
