NORMAL AMID THE STRIKE
PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN MAFELINO A BAZAR, announced on Monday (March 6, 2023) that there is no disruption of public transport in the Cordillera region during the first day of the weeklong transport strike.
With the non-participation of at least 16 jeepney trunk lines in Baguio City and with no reported incidents in other provinces, the transport strike failed to paralyze the public transport system in the region.
“Bagamat nag-signify na hindi sasali yung mga transport group sa strike, dapat patuloy pa rin yung monitoring natin,” the Regional Director instructed the unit commanders in PROCOR.
The Regional Director also expressed his appreciation to the different transport groups in the Cordillera region for their commitment to public service.
“Nagpapasalamat tayo, kasi nakikita natin yung mga drivers at operators natin dito sa Cordillera ay inuuna talaga yung makapagsilbi sa ating mga kababayan,” PBGEN BAZAR said.
On the other hand, the Regional Director instructed the Provincial Director of the different Police Provincial Offices and the City Director of the Baguio City Police Office to be alert and ready to provide necessary assistance to the riding public as the need arises.
“Dapat nakahanda pa rin tayo, i-ready pa rin natin yung mga mobility assets natin kung kakailanganin. Dapat in constant coordination tayo with our respective Local Chief Executives para sa maayos sa deployment ng ating “Libreng Sakay” kung kakailanganin,” the Regional Director said
