58 WANTED PERSONALITIES NABBED; 57 MUNICIPALITIES RECORDED ZERO CRIME INCIDENTS
The intensified efforts of PROCOR cops against criminality have resulted in the arrest of fifty-eight (58) individuals wanted by the law, while fifty-seven (57) municipalities in the region have recorded zero crime incidents from April 16 to 22, 2023.
Based on the records from the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division (RIDMD), Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) has recorded the highest number of arrests with twenty-two (22) wanted persons arrested followed by the Abra PPO with thirteen (13) arrests, Apayao PPO with ten (10) arrests, Baguio City Police Office (CPO) with nine (9) arrests, Kalinga PPO with three (3) arrests, and Ifugao PPO with one (1) arrest.
Of the arrested personalities, ten (10) individuals were listed as Most Wanted Persons (MWP); of which two (2) are listed at the Regional Level, five (5) at the Provincial Level, and three (3) at the Municipal Level.
Meanwhile, as a result of intensified police visibility and campaign against criminality, fifty-seven (57) municipalities in the different provinces of the region and four (4) police stations in Baguio City remain peaceful as PROCOR recorded zero crime incidents during the same week.
Zero crime incidents were recorded in twenty-five (25) municipalities of Abra; four (4) municipalities in Apayao; six (6) municipalities in Benguet; eight (8) municipalities in Ifugao; six (6) municipalities in Kalinga; and eight (8) municipalities in Mt. Province.
Further, Naguilian Police Station PS, Aurora Hill PS, Kennon Road PS, and Irisan PS also recorded zero crime incidents out of 10 police stations in Baguio City.
TWO FARMERS BUSTED FOR SELLING P6.7M WORTH OF MARIJUANA IN BAGUIO CITY
PROCOR’s anti-illegal drugs efforts continue to gain ground following the arrest of two high-value drug personalities and the seizure of P6.7M worth of Marijuana in a buy-bust operation conducted in Brgy. Camp 7, Baguio City on April 26, 2023.
Citing the reports submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR., the arrested suspects were identified as Christopher Arnold Fabian Atonen, 27yrs. old and Daryl Camot Collera 27 yrs old. who are both farmers and listed as High-Value Individuals (HVI).
The suspects were arrested by joint operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Bulacan Provincial Office, PDEA Cordillera-Baguio/Benguet, and Kennon Road Police Station 8, Baguio City Police Office (CPO) after they sold fifty-seven (57) pieces of tubular plastics containing suspected marijuana stalks with dried leaves and fruiting tops with an estimated weight of MOL 56 kilograms with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 6,720,000 to a police officer acting as poseur buyer.
The inventory of the pieces of evidence recovered were conducted on-site in the presence of the arrested suspect and witnessed by DOJ Representative Prosecutor Philip Cesar Castel and Brgy. Kagawad Arvin Jay Baldo.
The suspect and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the custody of PDEA-CAR for documentation while the suspects will be facing charges of violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
