2 rarmers arrested for wife battery and possession of firearms
Two farmers were separately arrested by law enforcers in police operations conducted in Mountain Province and Kalinga on December 26, 2018.
Sadanga Municipal Police Station (MPS) personnel with Barangay officials of Belwang, Sadanga, Mountain Province responded to a reported domestic violence at 10:00 a.m. on December 26, 2018, Warayan Rongorong Sagengan, 59, married, farmer, was arrested for physically abusing his wife. Suspect is now facing charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9262 otherwise known as the Anti-Violence against Women and Children Act of 2004.
Meanwhile, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 personnel while conducting checkpoint 6:30 p.m. of December 26, 2018 in Sitio Talaca, Brgy. Agbannawag, Tabuk City, Kalinga, arrested Mardelon Baccay Danggalan, 25, single, farmer and resident of Brgy. Poblacion, Paracelis, Mtn. Province for carrying an unlicensed Cal. 45 1911A1 Norinco firearm and 6 ammunition. Suspect is now facing a case for violation of Republic Act 10591 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Wanted for murder nabbed in Kalinga
Law enforcers continue to gain headway in the campaign against wanted persons following the arrest of a murder suspect in Kalinga.
Armed with a warrant of arrest, joint tracker teams of Tabuk City Police Station (CPS), Traffic Management Unit (TMU) and Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) of the Kalinga Police Provincial Office arrested Mario Mejia Mariano, 56, at Purok 5, Bulanao Tabuk City, Kalinga at about 4:00 a.m. of December 27, 2018.
Mariano was arrested by virtue of a warrant issued by Judge JR Mendoza of Regional Trial Court, Branch 25, Cabanatuan City for the crime of frustrated murder with a recommended bail of Php200, 000.00. He is now under the custody of Tabuk CPS for documentation prior to turn-over to the court concerned.
Seven law violators now in jail
Police operatives arrested a total of seven personalities from December 22-23, 2018– three gamblers and a Sudanese national for sexual abuse in Baguio City, 1 for illegal possession of firearms in Kalinga, and 2 wanted persons in Abra.
Arrested gamblers are identified as Rex Casillap Ramos, 38; Marlon Pascua Ferrer, 34; and Chris Ilumin Maynes, 20. They were all arrested in an anti-illegal gambling operation conducted by the personnel of Police Station 2 of Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) at terminal 2 Barangay Sto.Niño, Slaughter Compound, Baguio City on the evening of December 22, 2018. Confiscated from them were P1,260.00 bet money and gambling paraphernalia.
Women and Children’s Protection Desk (WCPD) operatives of BCPO arrested a Sudanese national identified as Awad Ali Yousif Awad, 23, after sexually abusing a 21-year old female in his residence at BPI Compound, Dangwa Street, Guisad, Baguio City on December 23, 2018.
Personnel of Tabuk City Police Station (CPS) and Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company (KPMFC) arrested Fidel Buggat Binoloc after he tried to evade a checkpoint and failed to present necessary documents for the Caliber 45 pistol and magazine loaded with seven ammunition in his possession on the afternoon of December 22, 2018.
Moreover, through service of warrants in Abra, two wanted persons identified as Ronald Allan Escobar, 28 and male minor were both arrested for a crime of theft in a separate police operation conducted by personnel of Pilar Municipal Police Station (MPS) and Tayum MPS on the afternoon of December 23, 2018
All the arrested persons are now facing appropriate charges in court.**
