49 arrested for violation of liquor ban
A total of 49 persons were arrested for violation of liquor ban which commenced at exactly 12:00 AM of May 12, 2019, pursuant to the provisions of the Omnibus Election Code (Liquor Ban) and Resolution No. 10429. Of the 49, 47 were arrested in Baguio City while the other 2 were arrested in Bontoc, Mountain Province.
To enforce the liquor ban, Baguio City Police Office Station 2 Mobile Patrol Unit visited Akira Bar located at Magsaysay, Baguio City at 12:10 AM of May 12, 2019. As a result, the following were caught drinking liquor: 1. Marcia L. Padong; 2. Jaisie L Manongtong; 3. Jessica B Aspillaga; 4. Gaudencio T Lino; 5. Arlyn L Casionan; 6.Azer Fritzie C. Basilio; 7. Jiselle D Sixto; 8. May Joy T. Edic; 9. Jocelyn B. Olowan; 10. Satelyn M. Lambino; 11. Geneva B. Lacbao; 12. Marciana P. Awis; 13. Nita L. Lawingan; 14. Carol L. Santos; 15. Bert A. Eneci; 16. Paul Brian C. Tango; 17. Byron D. Chumacog; 18. Raddy R. Antonio; 19. Jhendol M. Changilan; 20. Jayson W. Buyagao; 21. Napoleon T. Senovilla; 22. Jason A. Lopez; 23. Gerald C. Galiling; 24. Jarren P. Gaddang; 25. Dan T. Menzi; 26. Brenda G. Ramos; 27. Ronie T. Sianen; 28. Edson on B. Kawi; 29. Alexander O. Sumilao; 30. Allen B. Refugia; 31. Robert W. Salicon; 32. Felix L. Pasino; 33. Ruben W. Tabao-ican; 34. Anexis P. Lensing; and 35. Jordan P. Gaddang, all of legal age. Arrested persons were brought to Police Station 2, Baguio CPO and were subjected to inquest proceedings.
Likewise, at 2:10 AM of May 12, 2019, personnel of Baguio City Police Office Tourist Police Unit and Women’s and Children Protection Center officers visited the Cabana Bar and Eatery located at Otek Street, Baguio City that led to the arrest of: 1. John Mike Soriano Bautista; 2. Nick Baggao Calvero; 3. Jaime Evangelista Pacheco Jr.; 4. Richard Maliones Mendigorin; 5. Gerald Pardito Tenaza; 6. Francia Petrati Rivero; and, 7. Divina Sotelo Olanday. Above persons were caught in a drinking session. They were brought to Police Station 7 and were subjected to inquest proceedings.
Moreover, at around 10:20 PM of May 12, 2019, personnel of Bontoc Municipal Police Station, Mtn Province Police Provincial Office visited Bryan Lee’s Food House located at Kalang-ad Bldg., Pakkil, Caluttit, Bontoc that led to the arrest of Greg Batoto Catriz and Roldan Solliar Gandonez who were caught drinking liquor. They were brought to Bontoc MPS for proper disposition.
Finally, at 11:00 PM of May 12, 2019, personnel of Police Station 2, Baguio CPO patrolled at Tapao West Quirino Hill, Baguio City that led to the arrest of the following: 1. Jimmy Castillo Marianito; 2. Gerwin Abuan Gonzales; 3. Jun Osboken Lomsec; 4. Clyton Esoen Dagoyan; and, 5. Delbert Kis-Eng Laweng. Arrested persons were brought to PS 7, Baguio CPO for proper disposition.
Two of Ten Most Wanted Persons in Kalinga captured
Just after the election period, 2 of the Ten Most Wanted Persons (TMWP) of Kalinga Province finally landed in jail after they were arrested by members of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera (PROCOR).
The no. 1 TMWP identified as Leslie Alicog Pannogan alias “Tullangao” 47, single, a small scale miner and a resident of Middle Balatoc, Pasil, Kalinga was arrested for the crime of murder in Barangay Lower Uma, Lubuagan, Kalinga noon time of May 14, 2019.
With the intelligence information gathered, suspect was easily tracked down and captured by the combined personnel of Pasil and Lubuagan Municipal Police Stations, 2nd Kalinga Provincial Force Mobile Company, Intelligence personnel of the Regional Intelligence Division (RID-PROCOR), RIU 14, Kalinga CIDG-PFU, and Kalinga Highway Patrol Group.
Moreover, another person listed as no. 7 in the TMWP identified as Ronnie Gongob Dangiwan, 36, married, farmer and a resident of Barangay Wagud, Pinukpuk, Kalinga was caught for violation of RA 10591 known as the “Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act” in his residence at around 1:45 PM of the same day.
Dangiwan fell in the hands of the police through the concerted efforts of the joint personnel of PIB/DEU KPPO, Pinukpuk MPS, 1st KPFMC, RID-PROCOR, RIU 14, Kalinga, CIDG-PFU Kalinga and HPG-PFU Kalinga.
There was no bail recommended for Pannogan pursuant to the warrant of arrest issued by Judge Marcelino K. Wacas of the Regional Trial Court Branch 25, 2nd Judicial Region in Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga, while Dangiwan has a recommended bail bond of Php 100,000 for his temporary liberty issued by Judge Jerson E. Angog of RTC Branch 25, 2nd Judicial Region, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga.
Three other wanted persons were also arrested by virtue of warrants of arrest for various offenses.
Brigadier General Israel Ephraim Taverner Dickson, PRO-COR Regional Director lauded the members of the operating units for a job well done, despite the exhausting security duty rendered for the election, they still had the energy to arrest wanted persons in the region.
