PROCOR cops arrest 7 drug suspects
The continued campaign against illegal drugs in the region resulted in the arrest of six people, including a female minor (who was taken into custody) caught in the act of having pot session at Betag, La Trinidad, Benguet Monday night.
Arrested drug were identified as Beljimar Nabus Botic, 20 and Erickson Bucang, 23, both residents of Puguis, La Trinidad, Benguet; Jeric Espada Bittong, 19, a resident of Pico; Xaxunyro Ocampo, 27, a resident of Poblacion, KM6; Jideon Manzano, 49 and Rogen Castro Bangoy, 18, both residents of Betag, La Trinidad, Benguet and a female minor whose name was withheld.
Prior to their arrest, a concerned citizen informed the police that a pot session was ongoing in one of the boarding houses at Betag, La Trinidad, Benguet. Joint operatives of the Regional Intelligence Division (RID-PRO COR) and members of the Special Drug Enforcement Unit of La Trinidad Municipal Police Station directly conducted the operation.
Heat sealed sachets (12 pcs.) containing suspected shabu and assorted drug paraphernalia were seized from the suspects.
Pizza Hut robbed
At about 7:40 AM of May 17, 2019, a robbery incident transpired at Pizza Hut, Marcos Highway, Baguio City by still unidentified suspects.
Initial investigation disclosed that the suspects dug a hole from the canal about seven meters away from the main entrance of the establishment and opened a hole on the floor. They took more or less Php49,000 of collection money.
Accident resulting in injuries
Officers of Tabuk CPS responded to a vehicular traffic incident that transpired at about 5:00 pm of May 22, 2019 along National Road, Nambaran, Tabuk City, Kalinga, involving a Toyota Hilux (V1), bearing plate number VDR 815, color black, driven by Aaron Harold Yamashita Chungalao, Pastor by profession and a resident of Purok 2, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga, with passengers– Engineer Ben Bautista, Pastor June Ogayan Belmonte, Ptr. Pio Basia Datul, Ptra. Mildred Pagtud Malidab, Ptra. Deborah Onnon, Ptr. Aguinaldo Dayag Abulo and Ptr. Michael Romorin Maddela, all from the Free Believers Church based at Purok 2, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga, and a Mitsubishi Delica (referred to as V2), bearing plate number RDP 994, driven by DOMINADOR LAGASI MAGUILAO with passenger Devin Mark Maguilao. Investigation showed that V1 was heading towards Bulanao coming from Nambaran Proper while V2 was heading towards opposite direction and upon reaching the place of incident, V2 bumped the left side of V1 which was in its lane. As a result, V1 turned turtle causing injuries to its occupants. All the injured were brought to Kalinga Provincial Hospital. Involved conveyances now under custody of Tabuk CPS.
Accidental death of a policeman
At about 7:50 PM of May 22, 2019 in Barangay Patay, Sagada, Mountain Province, Police Corporal ASHLEY JEFF SULIPA BAGANGAN of Sagada MPS, while responding to an alarm from the Treasure Link Cooperative located nearby got out balanced and fell causing his head to hit the pavement. He was immediately brought to Saint Theodore’s Hospital in the same town but he died while undergoing medical treatment.
Physical injuries
The incident transpired at about 4:30 AM of May 23, 2019 at No. 107 Central Fairview, Baguio City and it was reported to PS1 at about 11:45 AM of May 23, 2019 on complaint of . BERNARD CHEONG FAGKANGAN, 27, single, college level, construction worker and presently residing at No. 106 Central Fairview, Baguio City against the arrested suspect identified as ROBERT AMLID KABLOY, 42, male, married, construction worker and presently residing at No. 372 Tam-awan Village, Pinsao Proper, Baguio City.
Investigation disclosed that both were attending a wake at the place of incident and they had a drinking session while playing cards (Tong-its). At the height of their card game, a misunderstanding ensued between them wherein the suspect got irked and hit the victim’s head with a glass bottle. The complainant was able to hold the hand of the suspect to avoid further harm and they both grappled on the ground until they were pacified. The victim immediately brought himself to BGHMC for medical treatment where he was diagnosed with multiple laceration on maxillary area and mandibular area, left, multiple abrasions on nasal dorsum and mentum per the medico-legal certificate issued by Dr. Julian Sebastian G. Gatmaitan of Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center at about 5:23 AM of May 23, 2019.
Suspect was arrested in his residence by responding PNP personnel. The case is for inquest proceedings.
