P2.9M MJ destroyed
Over P2.9 million worth of marijuana plants were destroyed during the 3-day marijuana operation of the Police Regional Office Cordillera in the hinterland of Kalinga.
Three plantation sites with a total land area of 1,950 square meters were discovered by the combined operatives of Kalinga Police Provincial Office, PDEA-CAR and members of the 1503RD Maneuver Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15, based at Sitio Talaca, Agbannawag, Tabuk City.
During the eradication, 14,600 fully grown marijuana plants were uprooted and burned onsite with a total dangerous drug board value of Php2,920,000.00.
The OPLAN BUSCONG RIDGE was steered by the combined operatives on June 11 to 13, 2019.
Last month, P5.7M worth of marijuana were destroyed and burned in Barangay Butbut Proper, Tinglayan, Kalinga.

At around 3:30 PM of June 20, 2019, along the Abra-Kalinga Road at Sitio Nagpawayan, Brgy. Subagan, Licuan-Baay, Abra, an Isuzu forward truck bearing plate No. WHM 913 loaded with stones driven by Wacky T Bayquen with three passengers identified as Jemerson B Pugal, Eddie Boy Mogol, Diosdado A Buenafe, all DPWH employees, lost its brakes and hit the roadside then turned and rested on its right side.
The victims were rushed to Abra Provincial Hospital but Mogol was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
