Retiring uniformed personnel honored
As part of the Philippine National Police (PNP) tradition, seven retiring uniformed personnel were honored at the Police Regional Office Cordillera, Camp Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet after long years of police service.
The retiring uniformed personnel were all non-commissioned police officers with the ranks of Police Executive Master Sergeant (PEMS), namely, Rodolfo R Serrano of Abra PPO with more than 31 years in service; PEMS Ramos D Silong of Benguet PPO with more than 23 years in service; PEMS Hipolito B Liggayu with more than 27 years in service and PEMS Eduardo M Yagyagon with more than 30 years in service, both from Kalinga PPO, PEMS Janet M Elias with more than 25 years in service and PEMS Teodoro Quindo, JR more than 23 years in service, both from RIAS-COR.
In recognition of the services and appreciation of their contributions to the PNP, Medalya ng Paglilingkod or PNP Long Service Medal and Plaques of Appreciation were awarded and presented to them. Their invaluable services and contribution that helped in the attainment of the PNP’s Mission and Vision is worthy of recognition and emulation by their colleagues in the service.
The “Salamat-Kapatid” program is being crafted to give honor to police uniformed and non-uniformed personnel who are retiring after long years of serving the organization with honesty and dedication. It is also a way of remembering those who in their own simple ways helped in the growth of the PNP organization.
Four arrested for violation of special laws
During the illegal gambling operations conducted by the police, two suspects were separately arrested in their respective residences for collecting jueteng bet money.
Dexter Emong Esteban, 33, a resident of barangay Upper Atok Trail, Baguio City was apprehended in the afternoon of June 18, 2019 while Jalmar Dumalleg Baguingan, 32, and a resident of Sitio Baccong, Pangol, Tanudan, Kalinga was also caught the following day.
Confiscated pieces of evidence from Esteban were cash money amounting to Php375.00 and assorted gambling paraphernalia while bet money amounting to Php1,575.00 and assorted gambling paraphernalia were also confiscated from the possession of Baguingan.
In a separate operation, police arrested a farmer identified as Merick Jayson B. Galano, 31, and a resident of Purok 6, Barangay Gaddanan, San Mateo, Isabela. He was arrested Monday night of June 17, 2019 at Sitio Talaca, Agbannawag, Tabuk City, Kalinga during a checkpoint operation for violating the firearms law of the Philippines. Confiscated from his possession were a caliber 45 pistol and one magazine containing seven (7) live ammunition.
In a buy-bust operation, drug suspect Cliford Ludaes Willie aka “Bugoy”, 39, and a resident of Wangal Housing, La Trinidad, Benguet was arrested at Trading Post, Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet in the night of June 14, 2019 after selling suspected illegal drugs to one of the police officers who posed as buyer. Confiscated from his possession were one (1) sachet of “shabu”, buy bust money amounting to Php1,000.00 and a Vivo touch screen cellular phone.
All suspects are now facing appropriate charges.
