4 arrested and P9.5M MJ bricks seized
Cordillera police arrested four drug violators (including a minor) in a series of police operations where a total worth of P9,588,000.00 marijuana bricks were confiscated over the weekend.
In a checkpoint operation, two drug transporters were arrested at Km 13, Acop Caponga, Tublay Benguet on the afternoon of August 3, 2019 after bricks of marijuana were found in their possession. Suspects identified as Aldrin Bombio Rabutan, 20, resident of Baseco Port, Block 9 Extention, Tondo, Manila and a 17 year old male minor were on board a Rising Sun bus plying the Bontoc–Baguio line when they were flagged down. During inspection, two large backpacks containing 35 marijuana bricks with a dangerous drug board value of Php4,200,000.00 owned by the suspects were confiscated by the operatives.
On the other hand, 2 abandoned backpacks and a travelling bag containing 35 Marijuana Bricks with a dangerous drug board value of Php4,200,000.00 were discovered by Bontoc policemen inside the Cable Café and Restaurant in Poblacion, Bontoc Mtn. Province on the night of August 2, 2019.
Another drug carrier identified as Kevin Lhar Blanko Aguila, 18, student, and a resident of Tuktukan, Taguig City was arrested along the Bontoc-Kalinga Road, Poblacion, Bontoc, Mtn. Province on August 4, 2019. Confiscated from his possession were 10 bricks of dried marijuana leaves with an estimated street value of P1,188,000.00.
Recently, a drug pusher identified as John Lloyd B. Romera was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted at SO Kabildatan, Zone 7, Bangued, Abra on August 4, 2019. Evidence confiscated were one (1) sachet containing suspected shabu; 2 plasticbags containing suspected dried marijuana leaves; P1,000.00 marked money; P230.00 cash money; 1 cellular phone; 1 Kawasaki tricycle and drug paraphernalia.
Lately, local tourists, mostly students from the lowlands were being utilized to transport illegal drugs, it was observed.
American-Chinese seriously wounded in a shooting incident
The vitim, Brandon Lee, 37, an American-Chinese was seriously wounded at Sitio Dugong, Brgy Tungngod, Lagawe, Ifugao in the afternoon of August 6, 2019. He is a consultant to the Ifugao Peasant Movement (IPM) and a resident of Sitio Dugong, Brgy Tungngod, Lagawe, Ifugao.
The incident was reported to the Lagawe Police Station thru his neighbor who informed that the victim was rushed to IGH Clinic, Natuwolan, Cudog, Lagawe, Ifugao.
PROCOR leadership immediately ordered the activation of the Provincial Special Investigation Task Group(SITG) lead by the Provincial Director of Ifugao PPO, under the supervision of the Deputy Regional Director for Operations(DRDO) to conduct an in depth investigation for the immediate identification of the perpetrator/s and to determine the motive of the crime.

Estafa
At around 9:00 AM of August 5, 2019 at Yandoc Street, Labsan, Baguio City personnel of BCPO, PS2 and CIU, arrested Janice Aliping Julian, 34, married, self-employed, native of Banao Mountain Province, and presently residing at No. 169 Crystal Cave, Baguio City .
The arrest was made by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Roberto R. Mabalot of the MTCC, First Branch, Baguio City in an estafa case. Bail was set at P500,000.00. **.
