Php17.5M worth of MJ destroyed
A total of Php17,484,200 worth of fully grown marijuana plants were uprooted and burned onsite during the SACLEO on August 19-24, 2019 conducted by operatives of PROCOR.
In its desire to totally stop the supply of marijuana, PROCOR, specifically personnel of the Mtn. Province PPO eradicated a total of 52,800 fully grown plants with a DDB value of Php13,200,000.00 which were discovered in four (4) plantation sites in the boundaries of Tinglayan, Kalinga and Brgy. Saclit, Sadanga Mtn. Province.
Likewise, in the province of Kalinga, joint personnel of Tinglayan and Rizal police destroyed 19,800 fully-grown marijuana plants with an estimated DDB value of Php3,960,000.00 in two plantation sites in Brgy Ngibat, Tinglayan, Kalinga with an approximate land area of 1,800 sq. meters.
Moreover, Benguet PPO uprooted a total of 1,120 fully grown and dried marijuana plants with a DDB value of Php304,000.00. Said plants were cultivated in a 310 square meters in a mountainous area of Bangaw, Kayapa, Bakun; Lawlawitan and Banengyawan, both in Palina, Kibungan, Benguet.
While in Ifugao, operatives of Ifugao PPO uprooted 102 marijuana plants with a DDB value of Php 20,200.00 at Balunglung, Hucab, Kiangan, Ifugao on August 24, 2019. Said illegal drugs were cultivated in a land area of more or less 400 Sqm. Further, the owner of the land who is a pastor and a former Brgy. kagawad of said Brgy and the lessee were charged for violation of the dangerous drugs act.
Continuous information gathering as to other plantation sites is unceasingly being initiated especially in the most remote communities of the region..
PROCOR captures Cordillera’s 68 wanted persons
In a week’s SACLEO PROCOR netted 68 wanted persons including the Cordillera’s Top Most Wanted Person.
Cordillera’s no. 9 top most wanted person for the crime of two counts of rape finally landed in jail after he was captured at Sitio Turayok, Brgy. Buluan, Conner, Apayao on August 21, 2019. He was identified as Modesto Duriguez Talay, 53, security guard and a resident of Perfecto Drive, Bagumbayan, Taguig City, Manila. No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.
Benguet Police Provincial Office (BPPO) personnel captured the two of Benguet’s most wanted on August 19, 2019. Jason Luansin Dela Cruz, 30, farm laborer, native of Dardarat, Tagudin, Ilocos Sur and the no. 4 most wanted person was arrested in his residence at Cada, Upper Cotcot, Bangao, Buguias, Benguet while Sherwin Galingon Bilog Aka Bayawe , no. 7 most wanted was captured at Km. 3, Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet. Dela Cruz was charged for the crime of rape with no bail recommended while Bilog was accused for the crime of robbery with force upon things has a recommended bail of Php36,000.00. Bilog is a member of the Acetylene Gang operating nationwide under the “Gipson Beligen Group” a.k.a “Sagandoy Acetylene Group”.
Apayao PPO also netted Rex Purieng Bidoc, 33, laborer, a resident of Brgy. Poblacion, Luna, Apayao. He is the no. 5 most wanted person there and was cornered at Brgy. San Francisco, Luna, Apayao on August 23, 2019 for the crime of murder with no bail recommended. While Ronel Pintang Guerero, 38, farmer, a resident of Brgy San Isidro, Tagkawayan, Quezon and tagged as the no. 7 most wanted was arrested for the crime of rape in Brgy. Rizal, Tagkawayan, Quezon Province on August 21, 2019 with no bail recommended.
Abra’s notorious no. 8 most wanted identified as Jay-El Gubatay Belisario, 28, native of Luba, Abra was arrested in his residence in Brgy. Cabalantian, Bacolor, Pampanga on August 20, 2019 for the crime of rape with no bail recommended.
Ifugao’s no. 10 most wanted identified as Reymar Dulnuan Lay-O, 24, a resident of Pieza, Lamut, Ifugao was captured at Pieza, Lamut, Ifugao on August 23, 2019 for the crime of Homicide with a recommended bail bond of Php 120,000.00.
Baguio City Police Office attained the highest number of accomplishment with 26 arrests followed by Benguet PPO with 13; Abra PPO- 9; Apayao and Ifugao PPO with 6 arrests each; Kalinga PPO- 5; and Mountain Province PPO recorded the least with only 3 arrests.
Qualified theft
On August 23, 2019 at about 8:30 PM, Jerry Dicang Tomas, 49, native of Sayangan, Atok, Benguet and presently residing at DA 79,Upper Tomay, Bahong, La Trinidad, Benguet went to La Trinidad MPS to file a case of qualified theft against his employee named Mario Natividad Rodriguez, 39, native of Moriones, Tondo, Metro Manila and presently residing at DA 79,Upper Tomay, Bahong, La Trinidad, Benguet.
The complainant alleged that he owns the “PJT’s Auto Supply located at Tomay, Bahong, La Trinidad, Benguet and the suspect was his utility man. That at about 6:30PM of August 23, 2019, his utility man had stolen two pieces of 14 JB1 Turbo amounting to Php 28, 000.00. The suspect allegedly admitted later to the complainant that he had stolen the items.**
