P500k+ marijuana
A couple listed as high value targets (HVTs) were arrested while more than Php500,000 worth of marijuana was confiscated over the past days.
Dennis Millare Montorio, 40, and Janice Millare Montorio, 34, banana cue vendors were arrested in their residence at Barangay Lingtan, Bangued, Abra on the early morning of October 13, 2019. The duo was arrested after joint personnel of Bangued MPS, 1st PMFC Abra PPO, RMFB15 and PDEA ABRA implemented a search warrant issued by Judge Rouella Melinda P Atmosfera of MTC, Lagangilang, Abra.
Confiscated evidence during the operation were two transparent heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and several drug paraphernalia.
Suspects are now under the custody of Bangued MPS awaiting for the issuance of the detention mittimus while confiscated items were turned over to the crime laboratory for qualitative examination.
On the other hand, Php576,000.00 worth of abandoned marijuana was recovered in Sitio Kesat, Bontoc Ili, Bontoc, Mountain Province on the afternoon of October 10, 2019 by joint operatives of PDEA Mtn. Province, RIU-14, PDEU and Bontoc Municipal Police Station.
Recovered items were two blue bags containing four (4) marijuana bricks weighing 4,000 grams worth Php480,000 and two (2) tubular marijuana weighing 800 grams worth Php96,000.00.
Violation of RA 9165
On October 14, 2019 at about 10:10 PM at Rising Sun Bus Terminal, Slaughter Compound, Sto. Nino, Baguio City, personnel of PS 2, PDEA Mtn. Province, PDEA-Baguio, PDEA Benguet, DEU, CIU, CIDMU, RMFB15, La Trinidad MPS, RIU 14 and PDEU Benguet conducted a bus interdiction against three illegal drug courier identified as SAMUEL FLOR CHRISTIAN BALDOVINO, JOSEPH BUNA OBRA BRIZUELA and RHYJEN RODRIQUEZ HERNANDEZ, 24 yo, all residents of Antipolo City. During the operation, a total of 17 pcs of dried marijuana leaves with fruits in a brick forms wrapped and taped and one rolled and wrapped dried marijuana leaves weighing MOL 17.5 kg with DDB value of Php 3,040,000.00 were recovered from their possession.
Charges were filed against them for violating the illegal drugs law, RA 9165.
Shooting in Abra
On October 15, 2019 at about 10:30 PM, an alleged shooting incident transpired at Barangay Taping, Dolores, Abra where the victims were identified as Modesto Baldemor Bergonia, 54, married, farmer, a resident of Barangay Taping, Dolores, Abra and Narciso Pinto Aldaca, 54, widow, a resident of Barangay Lub-Luba, Dolores, Abra while the alleged suspect was identified as Ramie Manangbao Bagsi, 27, security aid, single and a resident of Brgy. Buneg, Lacub, Abra. Initial investigation disclosed that the victims together with the suspect were playing cards, “POSOY,” at the wake of Julie B. Piano at brgy. Taping, Dolores when a heated argument ensued between the victim and suspect which prompted them to draw their firearms and shot each other. Both victim and suspect sustained multiple gunshot wounds and another victim (Narciso Pinto Aldaca) was also hit by stray bullets. The victims were rushed by responding personnel of Dolores MPS to Dolores Medicare and Community Hospital. One of the victims (Modesto Baldemor Bergonia) was declared Dead on arrival by Dr. Catalino B. Bigornia while the other victim (Narciso Pinto Aldaca) was transferred to Abra Provincial Hospital and confined there. The suspect was also brought to Abra Provincial Hospital and was admitted. The Abra Provincial Crime Laboratory Office team led by PLTCOL Rillo processed the crime scene and were able to recover the following pieces of evidence: one caliber 45 Armscor, with magazine of five(5) live ammunition, two (2) fired cartridge cases from a cal. 45 and one fired bullet. The cadaver of Modesto Baldemor Bergonia is now at Tamo Funeral Home located at Brgy. Talogtog, Dolores, Abra. Case is still under investigation.
