CPP’s high ranking leader in Luzon and 2 members neutralized
Acting on an information provided by a member of the CPP-NPA, a joint law enforcement operation was conducted by members of the Philippine Army, NCRPO, PRO-Cordillera and Baguio City Police Office, together with NOLCOM; 503Bde, 5ID, PA; CMOR, PA and CRSAFP in Brgy Queen of Peace, Baguio City at around 3:30 a.m. March 13, 2020.
Those neutralized were identified as Julius Soriano Giron, known to be the Chairman of the Communist Party of the Philippines in Northern Luzon and a member of the CPP-NPA’s executive committee, Lourdes Tan Torres/Ma Lourdes Dineros Tangco @ Tita an execom member and their National Health Bureau head, and an unidentified male serving as Giron’s security aide.
Said CNTs are members of the national organ operating in Northern Luzon.
Julius Soriano Giron @ TERRO/ZOILO/TATAY/LAKAY, chairman, CPP/NPA; Head, National Military Commission and POLITBURO member has standing warrants of arrest issued in Criminal Case no. (CC#) 1260-C for Rebellion, CC#s 2407-C & 2408-C for Murder, CC# II-10853 for Arson and CC# II-10854 for Frustrated Murder.
A firefight ensued when the NPAs resisted and opened fire at the arresting authorities while they were serving the warrants of arrest.
Government troops recovered various firearms such as one M16, two Cal .45, various explosives and other war material.
